A community-informed threat framework and tools for the security and assurance of AI-enabled systems.
About us
MITRE ATLAS™ is a globally accessible, living knowledge base of adversary tactics and techniques based on real-world attack observations and realistic demonstrations from AI red teams and security groups. There are a growing number of vulnerabilities in AI-enabled systems, as the incorporation of AI increases the attack surfaces of existing systems beyond those of traditional cyber-attacks. We developed ATLAS to raise awareness of these unique and evolving vulnerabilities, as the global community starts to incorporate AI into more systems. ATLAS is modeled after the MITRE ATT&CK® framework and its tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) are complementary to those in ATT&CK. As our ATLAS community better understood AI security concerns, our work quickly started overlapping with the broader AI assurance space, which includes AI equitability, interpretability, reliability, robustness, safety, and needs for privacy enhancement. As a result, our knowledge and incident sharing work has evolved to incorporate more of these concerns in both AI security and assurance as well. ATLAS continues to evolve through our collaboration with international AI leaders in industry, academia, and government as an open-source tool for the broader AI & security communities.

MITRE ATLAS reposted this
Take a threat-informed approach to secure AI. The Secure AI project accelerates the development of MITRE ATLAS and launches a new AI incident sharing program to boost community knowledge of threats to Artificial Intelligence-enabled systems. ⭐ Expands the database of adversary TTPs and case studies for AI-enabled systems through incident sharing metrics and mechanisms. ⭐ Documented new case studies within ATLAS that address vulnerabilities in industry-relevant systems, including generative AI. ⭐ Describes new relevant mitigations based on documented AI incidents. ⭐ Aligns ATLAS TTPs with the current version of MITRE ATT&CK. We extend our deepest gratitude to our industry partners for their invaluable contributions: AttackIQ, BlueRock.io, Booz Allen Hamilton, Cato Networks, Citi, CrowdStrike, FS-ISAC, Fujitsu, HCA Healthcare, HiddenLayer, Intel Corporation, JPMorganChase, Microsoft, Standard Chartered, and Verizon Business. We invite additional industry participants to join us in this critical endeavor. Your expertise and data contributions will further enhance our understanding of AI threats and bolster defenses across various sectors. Let’s change the game on the adversary! https://hubs.ly/Q02RJrpz0 #threatinformeddefense #cybersecurity #MITREATLAS #AI #AISecurity
