No bank account? Don't let that stop you from getting paid. Anyone in The Bahamas can receive bank transfers to a SandDollar-enabled digital wallet from a local commercial bank account. To receive bank transfers, download a SandDollar-enabled digital wallet that has the Bank Top Up feature activated. NOTE: SandDollar wallets are tiered. The holding limit is $500 for Tier 1 wallets and $8,000 for Tier 2 wallets. Tier 2 wallets require a government-issued photo ID. To learn more about digital wallets and SandDollar.BS, watch Episode 5: Making Sense of Digital Wallets & Digital Money on the Money Sense with Sheandra YouTube channel. https://lnkd.in/eB6KCJ-q

A couple of years ago, I was introduced to the world's first retail central bank digital currency, the SandDollar. After learning about its benefits and experiencing some firsthand, I inadvertently became an evangelist, spreading the word about the SandDollar to anyone who would listen. My passion for educating the public on the SandDollar eventually led to a role in the Currency department at the Central Bank of The Bahamas. Earlier this year, on my 36th birthday, I made a very tough decision to leave my job at the Central Bank to pursue some of the career goals on my vision board. While I am no longer a Central Banker, I still consider myself a SandDollar "evangelist." I share a bit about the SandDollar on the latest episode of my podcast, Money Sense with Sheandra. If you have some time this week, check out Episode 5: Making Sense of Digital Wallets and Digital Money at the link below. https://lnkd.in/esxD8f4t

𝗔 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗔𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗗𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗿  — In The Bahamas, digital wallet users do not need to have the same wallet provider to transact with one another. All wallets can send and receive SandDollar.BS, the digital Bahamian dollar. Because SandDollar is interoperable, merchants don't need multiple wallet providers to receive payments from customers, and consumers can switch wallet providers anytime. Episode 5: Making Sense of Digital Wallets & Digital Money is now streaming. Watch it on your mobile device or smart TV. https://lnkd.in/e3UJPK8i

  • The use cases for digital wallets are endless. Episode 5 explores ten use cases, one of which is using digital wallets to manage money for kids. Kanoo Pays is leading the way in this at Queen's College Bahamas, its first cashless school campus where students can make digital purchases using funds sent by parents through the Kanoo app. Episode 5: Making Sense of Digital Wallet and Digital Money is now streaming on YouTube. https://lnkd.in/eFk5pR22
