We have gathered for our second annual consortium meeting on Île de Porquerolles, France 🌴 The teams of CNRS, FFIS - IMIB, SMS, and Mercurna came together to discuss the latest advancements and future directions in the NANEMIAR project. The picturesque setting of Île de Porquerolles provides the perfect backdrop for inspiring discussions and collaborative networking. A big thank you to christophe lachaud and team for putting together this event! People with congenital anemia do not produce red blood cells normally, which often leads to anemia (low red blood cell count) and excess iron in the body. The round table of physicians, patients, relatives, and researchers, wants to emphasize these diseases' existence and the need for new treatments.  Instituto Murciano de Investigación Biosanitaria (IMIB) is studying these diseases in the group OCAI lab led by Ana Belen Pérez Oliva with the aim to identify potential new treatments for these patients, since the current ones are supportive, but patients have many side effects.   Thanks for watching and sharing the video! https://lnkd.in/ebZDnFdN #innovation #research #EUproject #HorizonEurope #EUfunded #congenitalanemia

🔬Last week, NANEMIAR researchers from the Murcian Health Service, affiliated with Instituto Murciano de Investigación Biosanitaria (IMIB)/FFIS - IMIB, joined the 2024 European Hematology Association (EHA) congress in Madrid. This hybrid meeting brought together clinicians, researchers and industry professionals, and was a unique opportunity to catch up on the latest advances in the hematology field. 🧐Our project is included in the abstract book (PB3238).

📚 As part of our commitment to fostering scientific curiosity and eduction, we hosted a group of enthusiastic high school students yesterday at Instituto Murciano de Investigación Biosanitaria (IMIB). This was a wonderful morning where we had the opportunity to share knowledge, inspire young minds, and ignite a passion for scientific discovery. We hope to have sown seeds of curiosity and inspire the next generation of scientists🔬 🙌 A big thank you to the high school students from IES Mar Serena who visited us. Keep asking questions, exploring and making a positive impact!

Today, our team had the privilege of attending the Kick-off meeting of the ‘RD cluster’ in Brussel, a great initiative by the European Commission. 🇪🇺 🔬 This ‘RD cluster’ brings together Horizon Europe EU-funded research projects focused on novel therapy development for Rare Diseases. 🌐 Our coordinator Ana Belen Pérez Oliva presented the NANEMIAR project and we had the chance to interact with other readearchers in this cluster and exchange ideas on synergies between the projects and the relevant EU initiatives. #horizoneurope #rarediseases #innovationinhealth #eu
