#NASAMarshall hosted a successful Safety Day ceremony for employees on Sept. 26. The theme for this year was “Safety Woven Throughout the Fabric of Marshall.” An employee breakfast was served before guest speaker and purpose coach Marceleus Venable shared insight with the Marshall team on how to take care of their physical and mental health. The keynote speaker, NASA astronaut Mark T. Vande Hei, also spoke with the workforce about being team players in NASA’s safety mission. The ceremony included awards, activities, and vendor booths that provided safety information to employees across a variety of topics.🦺🚀🏆 “It is crucial to ensure that each of us weaves safety into everything we do, not only at work but in our daily lives,” Marshall Director Joseph Pelfrey said.

A new flag is reaching for the stars outside the Huntsville Operations Support Center (HOSC) at #NASAMarshall following a Sept. 19 ceremony. The Crew-9 mission to the International Space Station, scheduled to launch no earlier than 1:17 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, will be the ninth crew rotation mission with SpaceX to the orbiting laboratory under NASA’s Commercial Crew Program. Marshall’s key role within the Commercial Crew Program is to support certification that the spacecraft and launch vehicle are ready for launch. The support team performs engineering expertise, particularly for propulsion, as well as program management, safety and mission assurance, and spacecraft support. Go #Crew9!!!! #NASAMarshall scientists were featured speakers during a special celebration of "No Straight Lines," a new art mural by a local artist in Huntsville, Alabama. Coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the launch of NASA’s Chandra X-ray Observatory, the celebratory event "Legacy of the Invisible" honored Huntsville's rich scientific legacy in astrophysics and the groundbreaking discoveries made possible by Huntsville's scientists and engineers. Speakers highlighted the Marshall Space Flight Center's crucial role in astrophysics research. Alongside the speakers, the event also offered members of the community the opportunity to meet the scientists who worked on some of NASA's most revolutionary astrophysics missions. The Marshall booth featured: the Apollo Telescope mount, which was the main science instrument on Skylab; The High Energy Astrophysics Program (HEAO); the BATSE Instrument on the Compton Gamma Ray Observatory; Chandra X-ray Observatory; Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope; IXPE; and Marshall's X-Ray and Cryogenic Facility (XRCF).🌌🎨 "No Straight Lines" is located in downtown Huntsville on the corner of Clinton Ave. and Washington St.

The event took place Sept. 19 at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center’s Davidson Center for Space Exploration.
