Fred Hutch is pleased to welcome Tracy Evans as the new senior executive director of Obliteride, our annual bike ride, walk/run and fundraiser. Tracy’s deep background in high-caliber peer-to-peer events, her proven leadership, her focus on community engagement and her outstanding enthusiasm are the perfect match for our signature summer fundraising event. “I am incredibly excited to join Fred Hutch as the senior executive director of Obliteride,” she said. “The opportunity to lead this vital effort for groundbreaking advances in research and care is both a great honor and a profound responsibility. I am eager to work alongside our passionate community to make a tangible difference in the lives of patients and their families, ensuring we move closer to a world without cancer." #obliteride #curecancerfaster

Fred Hutch is pleased to welcome Tracy Evans, MBA as the new senior executive director of Obliteride! Over the last two decades, Tracy has been immersed in national disease-focused fundraising, including with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and the Lupus Foundation of America. She also served as the ride director of AIDS/LifeCycle, which is the largest HIV/AIDS endurance fundraising event in the world. Most recently, she was the chief philanthropy officer for Horizons Foundation, which funds the LGBTQ+ nonprofit ecosystem of the San Francisco Bay area and beyond. In addition, Tracy is an avid cyclist. It is no surprise that she was a 50-mile finisher at this year’s Obliteride and can’t wait to join the Philanthropy team at Fred Hutch! “I am incredibly excited to join Fred Hutch as the senior executive director of Obliteride,” said Tracy. “The opportunity to lead this vital effort for groundbreaking advances in research and care is both a great honor and a profound responsibility. I am eager to work alongside our passionate community to make a tangible difference in the lives of patients and their families, ensuring we move closer to a world without cancer." Please join us in welcoming Tracy to Fred Hutch! We are thankful for this community of more than 6,200 participants, 21,000 donors, 800 volunteers, and our generous sponsors, who helped make this year’s Obliteride our most successful Obliteride yet!!

Find our reflection on this year’s Obliteride kick-off party up on our DSquared blog! 🚴🧡 https://lnkd.in/gKyg_a3u Supporting this event is undoubtedly one of the highlights of our year. We’re thrilled to see how our partnership with Obliteride and Fred Hutch has evolved over time—from our beginning years serving bikers at the end of their long rides on Saturday and Sunday, to now catering the Friday night opening party. It’s a joy to help kick off such an amazing weekend for a great cause, and it’s an honor to cater an event that contributes to cancer research. #Obliteride2024 #Obliteride #FredHutch #CureCancerFasterer

Four National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated cancer centers – Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Fred Hutch Cancer Center, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center and Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering – have joined forces and secured funding from AI technology leaders Amazon Web Services (AWS), Deloitte, Microsoft and NVIDIA, to create the Cancer AI Alliance (CAIA). The alliance will apply responsible #AI to the collective power of the participating cancer centers’ data to unlock insights while protecting data security, all to identify more ways to transform cancer research and care. “Collectively, the data held by the nation’s leading cancer centers has been an untapped source of new cancer discoveries that has been out of reach. This alliance helps solve the key technical challenges that will enable us to securely use both AI and massive computational power to find these breakthrough insights and save more lives,” said Thomas J. Lynch Jr., MD, Fred Hutch president and director.
