Day two of PMMI: The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies's 2024 Annual Meeting was led by an analysis on AI Disruption by Carol Reiley, Serial Entrepreneur and AI Roboticist. Reiley offered a technical perspective on the realistic expectations and strategic advantages AI offers. She emphasized that there is a huge discussion around the automation of people's jobs, and while it's a concern, the focus should be on what tasks can be automated to upskill the workforce. On the manufacturing floor, vision inspection is taking the lead in the use of AI, followed by predictive maintenance.
