Phoenix Valley Young Professionals

The Valley Young Professionals Board of Directors kicked off their annual retreat by mapping out strategic plans for the new fiscal year. The day was filled with forward-thinking discussions, beginning with a special presentation from Scarlett Spring, Assistant Executive Director at PBC, who also provided the board with an exclusive tour of the Phoenix Bioscience Core. The retreat featured an engaging panel discussion with industry leaders, including Todd Sanders, President & CEO of the Greater Phoenix Chamber, Stacy Derstine, Vice President of External Affairs at Arizona Public Service - APS, and the Chamber’s Board Chair-Elect, Laura Lynn Smith, Division Vice President/General Manager of ADP and the Chamber’s Chairwoman. It was a productive day of planning, collaboration, and strategizing new ways to elevate the experience for our members in the year ahead!

Our Valley Young Professionals hit it out of the park at Chase Field during our annual Arizona Diamondbacks game! ⚾️ We had an amazing evening of networking and baseball, topped off with an exclusive opportunity to hear from the Diamondbacks leadership team about their journey and commitment to the community. Valley Young Professionals toured the Arizona Humane Society yesterday and learned about animal adoptions and welfare! VYP members received a behind-the-scenes tour of the facility, where they witnessed firsthand the incredible work the Arizona Humane Society does to rescue and care for animals in need. As part of the Chamber’s commitment to giving back to the community, we also hosted a donation drive during the event where members brought pet food, toys, blankets, and cleaning supplies to support the Humane Society’s ongoing efforts! Thank you to all who supported and attended! 🐶🐱

Yesterday, Valley Young Professionals had the privilege of hosting Christian Romero, VP of Community Management, and Andie Swanson, Associate Banker of J.P. Morgan, for an enlightening discussion on financial literacy and confidence. Their insight into credit intricacies and investment principles set the stage for a brighter, more knowledgeable, secure future. We are grateful to Christian and Andie for generously sharing their time and expertise with us!

Exciting changes are happening at the UMOM New Day Centers campus, VYP’s designated nonprofit partner of the year! Renovations have officially begun on two buildings, which will now feature larger rooms to better accommodate families in need. They will also be adding new computer labs for both adults and children on campus, as well as a dedicated lab for the Halle Women's Center.
