We’re reflecting on an incredibly inspiring and energizing InnoTrans! This week was packed with insightful conversations, valuable personal exchanges with both new and long-standing business partners, and we couldn’t be more excited for the upcoming RAILWAY Supplier Summit in Vienna. Our Dr. Hajo Drees, MBA. had a series of highly engaging discussions around our work, as well as his newly published book, The World is Agile, featuring contributions from Jan Grothe, Stefan L. Braun & Stephan Izay, Angela Qu, Josip T. Tomasevic, Christiane Bausback, and many more.

InnoTrans Day 3 Highlights: On the third day of InnoTrans, the Berlin Institute had the privilege of meeting with Dr. Richard Lutz, Chairman of the Board of Deutsche Bahn, to discuss future initiatives and celebrate the publication of The World Is Agile, alongside Jan Grothe, CPO of Deutsche Bahn, and Stefan L. Braun, CPO of ÖBB, among 27 other esteemed authors. Deutsche Bahn is enthusiastic about participating in the upcoming 3rd RAILWAY Supplier Summit in Vienna, where Karl Blaim, CFO of Siemens Mobility; Jan Christoph Harder from Skoda Group; and Christiane Bausback, CEO of N+P Design, will discuss the future of European rail with a specific emphasis on sustainability, as part of the Railsponsible initiative. Michael Santo from H&Z will share valuable insights during our visits to the ÖBB headquarters and Siemens Mobility plant tour scheduled for May 2025. The co-editors of the fourth book in the supply chain and production series are Josip T. Tomasevic and Angela Qu. It will be published on Amazon, following the release of the previous three volumes. How do we make our societies livable in a future with 10 billion people? 🚆🌍🌲  I gave a mobility perspective on this at the RAILWAY Supplier Summit last week in Berlin. We are on route to 10 billion people, and this will see transport demand double by 2050 compared to 2020. All industries need to accelerate and help make the world livable in the future, in transport alone, we need a 25% reduction of emissions by 2030 to get on track to Net Zero. This means all eyes are looking to us in rail because it is the least emissions-intensive mode of transport. As an industry, we can only transform societies for 10 billion people with sustainability at the top of our agenda. It should be at the heart of our decision-making and together with digitalization, be at the core of everything we do. It is a mission we have to achieve and we can only do this with the support and buy-in from the complete supply chain.
