Advanced Mail Screening: Keeping Corrections Facilities Safe from Drugs and Contraband
About us
Keep Your Facilities, Officers and Inmates Safe Detect More Illegal Drugs and Contraband Concealed in Items. MailSecur® uses safe, T-ray technology to allow corrections personnel to “see inside” letters, packages and other soft objects to detect the smallest and hardest to find threats that X-ray and other scanners can’t find in personal and legal mail, without opening it, and in inmate personal items. - Maintain – privacy and confidentiality - Protect – corrections staff - Reduce – screening time and resources - Detect – more contraband and threats With MailSecur, screeners see what's inside their mail or small parcels without opening them. The scanner is easy to use – simply holding an unopened mail item in the field of view provides a real-time 3D video of contents concealed within it, including drug-laced papers. This advanced imaging capability is built on safe T-ray technology that allows operators to freely manipulate the objects to gain alternate views for a detailed inspection in a matter of seconds. This approach is markedly different from other screening technologies, like X-ray, which uses harmful radiation and requires specialized training and certification to interpret the 2D scans accurately. QUICK, ACCURATE DETECTION OF ILLICIT DRUGS IN THE FORM OF POWDERS, LIQUIDS, TREATED PAPER AND CONTRABAND: - Drug-laced papers: K2/K3, THC, Raid and other narcotics and chemicals - Suboxone Strips concealed in letters, magazines, newspapers, and behind stamps and return labels - Powder or liquid forms: methamphetamine, opioids, cocaine, heroin and synthetic marijuana - Electronic components including cell phones, SIM cards, storage devices, USB connectors - Other contraband: sharps, currency, weapons components and other concealed items

RaySecur Inc. team demonstrated that work hard, play hard is indeed alive and well during our February off-site. We had an amazing time engaging in activities like skiing 🎿, fat bike trail riding 🚲, and foosball ⚽. Not only did we have a blast, but we also used the opportunity to establish meaningful connections and strengthen relationships. #WeAreOneTeamWeAreRaySecur

RaySecur suggests that correctional facilities should prioritize #contraband detection rather than identification. One significant reason is that the constant introduction of unknown substances makes identification extremely challenging. At our #ACA panel session, attendees also mentioned that adhering to conflicting laws was problematic to their contraband interdiction strategies. During yesterday's panel session on detecting #contraband in legal mail, an audience member asked, "How can DOC facilities safely handle a bad mail incident?" This is a great question and it underscores the complexity of dealing with unknown substance threats, the danger of accidental exposures, and the importance of written procedures and training. A simple, yet highly effective approach is to create standard operating procedures - not just for mail handling, but thinking ahead to when an incident or exposure occurs. Cody Martin and our other security advisors are ready to assist DOCs in these efforts. If you are at ACA, visit RaySecur at booth # 701! Rebecca LaFosse David H.
