Transforming Leaders to Transform Health
About us
The RWJF Health Policy Fellows program offers mid-career professionals the opportunity to participate in the policy process at the federal level and use that leadership experience to improve health equity, health care, and health policy. For 50 years this non-partisan fellowship has offered exclusive, hands-on policy experience in the nation's capital. Working hand-in-hand with key players in federal health policy, more than 300 fellows have participated in the policy process at the federal level and used that leadership experience to improve health, health care, and health policy. **All posts are for educational and informational purposes only. The contents of this page do not reflect the position of the National Academy of Medicine, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation or any offices where current or former fellows are placed. **

The team with the most heart! We have to shoutout the fantastic National Academy of Medicine Health Policy Fellowships and Leadership Programs team, who worked tirelessly over the last six months to pull off a truly once-in-five-decades feat. A huge 50th Anniversary Gala sandwiched in between two incredible days of the largest alumni retreat in the history of the program … oh and also in the middle of an intense 3.5-month Health Policy Orientation. Congrats to Andrew, Gregg, Jada, Kelly, Marissa, Mona, Victoria and Yumi on a wonderful weekend reflecting on and celebrating 50 years of impact!

The 2024-25 class was introduced to the National Academy of Medicine’s membership at the NAM annual meeting this morning. Very proud of this phenomenal class!

Introducing the cast of Hamilton: Health Policy Fellows + their fan club! Each year the new class is tasked with putting together a skit to introduce themselves to the alumni community and they did not come to play. There was singing, dancing, audience participation and a resounding round of applause at the end. Bravo to the class of 2024-25!

It’s #ThinkTankThursday! The fellows got a wonderful opportunity to hear from the Center for American Progress, the Cato Institute and the Brookings Institution today, and covered a range of health policy topics. It is incredibly important for fellows to hear from a wide variety of perspectives during orientation as they learn the full landscape of Federal health policy. Thank you to our briefers: Emily Gee from CAP, Michael Cannon and Peter Van Doren from Cato and Matthew Fiedler from Brookings.
