The increasing connectivity of vehicles is bringing more #cybersecurity vulnerabilities. The UNECE R155 regulation requires systematic measures such as regular risk assessments, penetration tests and robust incident response mechanisms to mitigate cyberthreats. The regulation also emphasizes a secure software update management system to maintain vehicle safety with up-to-date #software. OEMs are now focused on embedding security into vehicle design and ensuring compliance to avoid penalties and withdrawal of vehicle homologation. https://okt.to/lLDV8s #automotiveindustry

In the United States, the #EV sales slowdown and the rising popularity of hybrids are still a major focus in the news cycle. Yet, on the shift to alternative propulsions, the impact of time can sometimes be overlooked. Reporting often focuses on year-over-year changes in registrations rather than the long view provided by a more wholistic review of vehicles currently on the road. By looking at the number of vehicles entering and leaving the fleet — in addition to new registrations — we can more effectively measure efforts to grow EV adoption and reduce the fleet's negative environmental impact. The #automotive market is going through major changes. Vehicles are getting smarter with advanced sensors, communication capabilities, and autonomous driving features. One feature that some vehicles are adopting is heads-up display (HUD): a piece of automotive #technology that displays important information on a transparent screen directly in the user's line of sight. In our latest Autology podcast, S&P Global Mobility experts Vivek Beriwal and Matthew Beecham speak with Andy Travers, CEO of Ceres Holographics, about the evolution of HUDs and the gradual emergence of holographics in the auto industry.
