Back home from a wonderful #OCX24, three days packed full of technological deep-dives, inspiring talks, awesome people and great networking. Thank you @Eclipse Foundation for pulling of this exciting event. And a special thanks to the awesome community around Eclipse Software Defined Vehicle. On the last day I had the pleasure to present my thoughts on why I believe we need a hardware reference platform, a common foundation to build our SDV software stack on - a journey that we are currently already embarking on. I hope I could spark a fire 🔥 regarding this hardware idea and the community might pick up it from here and make it fly 🚀 . I can say for certain that we had great chats directly after my talk and there a couple follow-ups in the pipeline. Let's drive this and generally the whole SDV development forward together!

Hey Eclipse Foundation and #OCX sponsors, thanks for a great event. Three take homes: 1/ Open source in the car (software defined vehicles - #SDV) is already a big deal and only going to get bigger. It is going to be decisive in allowing different tier 1 and 2 component suppliers to more easily tie into in-car data buses and ECUs for better vehicle/driver/passenger experiences. 2/ #OpenHarmony (and the Oniro project) has huge potential to shake up existing mobile and interconnected device ecosystems. An open source OS designed *from the ground up* to seemlessly bring together functionality from small embedded IOT devices, all the way up to smartphones and even cars. The promise is multi-device experiences and scenario transfers between devices as users go about their daily lives. Very cool … if it pans out … and that’s where the power of an open source community collaboration dynamic can shine ✨ 3/ The Punjab Tandoori Restaurant on Wallaustraße in Mainz does a very good curry! 😋
