Middle School Educators Professional Learning: Native American Essential Understandings and MN State Standards On November 8, all middle school teachers, except those attending CAREIALL, are invited to deepen their understanding of both historical and contemporary Indigenous communities and perspectives while aligning their content with MDE standards. Participants will engage with keynote speaker Jason Bresette and explore key topics through breakout sessions, all designed to support the integration of authentic, culturally responsive content into their classrooms. This professional learning opportunity offers middle school teachers the time to explore the Minnesota Native American Essential Understandings and Minnesota state standards related to the Minnesota Tribal Nations. Teachers will enhance their knowledge of historical and contemporary Indigenous communities, experience authentic content to implement into their practice, and develop strategies for co-learning with students. Multiple breakout sessions will be available to allow you to direct your own learning.
