Our research is a conversation starter to reimagine the world of #work. We want to hear not only from businesses, workers and workers’ representatives, but also from policymakers, non-governmental organisations, employment services and basically anyone who is interested in delivering better labour markets outcomes for all. ❓ To continue the discussion, we'd like to propose five questions to think about how to organise and regulate work to meet the realities of the 21st century: 1️⃣ How can we accelerate our readiness for an #AI-disrupted world? 2️⃣ What more is needed to meet the demand for more diverse ways of working for more people? 3️⃣ How can we develop a #skills and #training ecosystem that is responsive to fast-changing needs? 4️⃣ Will flexible working models and skills development opportunities be enough to increase access to work for under-represented groups? 5️⃣ How can we level up the experience of work for all while offering appropriate protection and security to all workers? 🔎 https://lnkd.in/eZ3cZpTb 🗣 In the coming weeks, we'll explore those questions. Which one is the most pressing? Let us know in the comments!

#TheWorkWeWant key findings are now available in Japanese, thanks to JASSA, the national federation for the #staffing sector! #Japan is the second largest market for #HRservices globally and it has kept growing over the past few years, though growth is slowing down. In the medium to long term, the country will see #talent shortages intensify due to the ageing population and low birthrate. More than ever, HR services providers will have a key role to play to mobilise "the missing workforce" by supporting women, disabled people, elderly people, etc., enter or re-enter the labour market, as well as by promoting the use of foreign workers. https://lnkd.in/e-Xe22VJ

Our research shows that employee expectations are shifting and employers must significantly adapt their value proposition if they want to remain attractive for #talent. How is that affecting how #staffing firms position themselves and the services they offer? This is what Pam Sands, Board member of the World Employment Confederation, and Francesca Profeta, CCWP, Research Analyst at Staffing Industry Analysts, discuss in this video. https://lnkd.in/eY4khBRd

Great insights on the economic and labour market outlook shared by some of the leading #workforce solutions companies during a webinar organised by the World Employment Confederation recently... It echoes some of our findings: the growing need for #flexibility, the impact of AI on #skills, the importance of enlarging the #talent pools and of #upskilling & #reskilling... With 88% of employers planning to increase their use of agency workers in response to market dynamics and to fill skills gaps, #HRservices providers will certainly play a more strategic role in labour markets. https://lnkd.in/epwpatYv
It was a pleasure to take part in a WEConversation "Insiders’ Insights: HR Services’ Outlook on Labour Market Challenges" With Daniele Merlerati of the #GIGroup, Martin Meier of #theAdeccoGroup and Dominique Hermans of #Randstad, all that moderated by the one and only Shazia Ejaz of #REC. A lot of great insights and golden nuggets to think about in the coming days and weeks. My key "aha moments" and takeaways are: ⭐ Private employment agencies can and do play a role in the challenging #labourmarket situation by reaching out to the #talent that has not found a way to the labour market yet, and giving them an extra push in #training if/where needed. ⭐ Every storm has a silver lining, and when the portfolio of services and geographies is diversified, then economic or business pitfalls in one area are compensated by an uptick in other areas. Stay focused. ⭐ #AI creates a lot of uncertainty at the moment. The more optimistic scenario depicts "life as more beautiful and more human thanks to AI." ⭐ #Qualifications and #skills: most schools in most countries offer obsolete (last century) education, so young people coming out of school are unfit for the modern world of work. This needs to change. ⭐ New #generation is not looking for a job in the same way as before, does not want to work as much and for as long as earlier generations, and does not care about the compensation as much as #flexibility. ⭐ #Circular labour markets: unemployment is immediately unproductive, so why not adopt the circular labour market concept, letting the workers choose their contract type, their work mode and working conditions? Current labour market policies are unfit for purpose, so why not put in place transition policies that help people just avoid unemployment altogether? Thanks to all for such an inspiring debate. My only wish is that we had more time to go into detail on each of the above :) World Employment Confederation The Work We Want

Earlier this week, on World Day for Decent Work, we asked on which of the four dimensions of #DecentWork as defined by the International Labour Organization, we still ought to make far more progress (https://lnkd.in/eu5tgwj7). 60% said "employment creation". As the World Employment Confederation explains, the problem is rather a mismatch between the jobs available and the #skills required or #talent pools being overlooked. Check out the WEC's LinkedIn feed for more insights into how #HRservices can enable better labour market functioning and enable decent work for all! #WDDW24 #TheWorkWeWant
During this week marked by World Day for #DecentWork, we’re exploring how the #HRservices industry contributes to the four pillars of the Decent Work agenda: 1️⃣ #employment creation. Labour markets are currently in a situation where many jobs are vacant. Yet, employers face labour shortages. Rather than a lack of workers, the problem rather lies in a mismatch with the skills required or some talent pools being overlooked. Our research #TheWorkWeWant shows that 52% of organisations plan to source talent from under-employed sectors of the workforce and provide them with the support they need to be successful at work, in order to expand their pool of talent within the next two years. HR services agencies have expertise in identifying those talents and helping them access labour markets. Read more: https://lnkd.in/enf5qrtP #WDDW24 #TheWorkWeWant

Today is World Mental Health Day. As we spend a third of our life at #work, taking care of our mental health at work is essential for our overall wellbeing. As the #career experts of the World Employment Confederation point out, companies' typical response to that challenge is offering healthy food, games, and yoga sessions over lunchtime. What is often overlooked – and actually more impactful – is an investment in career support. 🔎 https://lnkd.in/eYTvbKpj 🗣 Which actions are you taking to invest in your #career and ensure your #wellbeing at work?
