It's finally official: Our 1-megawatt #CommunitySolar project at Foxcroft Academy has reached Commercial Operation, and is now the largest rooftop community solar project operating in Maine! Though we completed construction on the project back in December, a long and snowy winter in Maine prevented us from completing all necessary final testing until now. Did you know there’s a solar car company in Carlsbad? Aptera Motors is bringing solar travel to the US. They have been developing their solar car in their Carlsbad headquarters and have plans to bring battery and frame & body production to the facility. To double-down on Aptera’s mission, we put a commercial solar system on the Aptera HQ roof. The H.G. Fenton Company property’s system was designed using Energy Toolbase software. The build uses Silfab Solar Inc. panels on UNIRAC racking feeding DC power to SMA America inverters - all delivered for the project through Rexel USA with billing handled via Ivy Energy software.
