The KU Edwards Campus welcomed Darryl Burton to its stage last night as part the Stages @ KU Edwards series. Burton shared his story of 24 years incarcerated at the Missouri State Penitentiary after being convicted of a murder he didn’t commit. His experience reveals the challenges within the judicial system but also the strength of the human spirit to turn a long nightmare into forgiveness and redemption. Burton, now a pastor at Church of the Resurrection, co-founded the non-profit Miracle of Innocence with a mission to help free innocent individuals and provide care for the exonerated when they are released.
