Dr. Manjeet Rege, artificial intelligence expert and University of St. Thomas director of the Center for Applied AI, was asked by NewsGuard's Reality Check to weigh in on the validity of a recent song circulating social media supposedly released by performer Justin Bieber title "Lost Myself at a Diddy Party". AI experts like Dr. Rege agree that the song was likely created by artificial intelligence. “My professional analysis suggests the song does not feature Justin Bieber's actual vocals,” Dr. Rege told NewsGuard in a September 2024 email. “While the voice has some similarities to Bieber’s style, subtle nuances in phrasing and emotional expression seem lacking.” Rege said the vocal delivery sounds mechanical and flat and that its “overall production feels overly polished but lifeless, which is a hallmark of AI-generated music.” https://lnkd.in/gu6cExgN #artificialintelligence #AI #aihoax #aigeneratedmusic

Dr. John Abraham, climate scientist and University of St. Thomas professor of thermal sciences, has spent years working with oceanographers to track how global warming has caused an explosive rise in ocean temperatures. "90% of the global warming heat ends up in the oceans, and as the ocean waters heat up, that's what gives fuel to these storms. It increases their size, their wind speed, the rainfall, and the storm surge," said Dr. Abraham in a recent KARE 11 interview discussing how climate change fueled Hurricane Milton. https://lnkd.in/gSSjuMtx #climatechange #globalwarming
