🚗✨ A new #Automotive Challenge is out! Thrilled to share our latest full Unreal Engine production showcasing the partnership between Michelin and Alpine! 🏁🔥 Everything is rendered using #Lumen and #MRQ, except for one #Pathtrace shot in this teaser! 🎬 Can you spot it with just one viewing? 👀 Drop your guess in the comments!👇 Big thanks to my incredible SoWhen? team for their hard work 💪 and to Michelin for their trust, especially Fredéric Mabrut , Executive Producer at Michelin Audiovisual Department! 🙌 #UE5 #Innovation #Createch #Michelin #SoWhen #UEServicePartner

  • At the end of last year, 12 CG professionals explored real-time animation with Unreal Engine and MetaHuman during the three-week Unreal Fellowship: Animation at Epic Games Novi Sad. Half of the group brought the theme of “On the Clock” to life, each creating a unique 15-second cinematic piece from script to screen. Built with the latest path-tracing technologies and powered by RTX neural rendering, check out our latest update to the Zorah tech demo. Zorah is created using the NVIDIA RTX Branch of Unreal Engine 5 and showcases cinematic lighting in real-time, enabling developers to render incredibly detailed scenes with millions of triangles.✨ #GDC2025

Animating Directly in Unreal Engine 🎮 We’ve taken a different route by animating the gameplay locomotion for G1 entirely within Unreal Engine, leaving Maya out of the equation. This climbing locomotion is a great example of the freedom this workflow offers. Being able to test and tweak animations in real time, directly in the game environment, has made the process faster, more creative, and honestly, a lot more fun. 🚀 ✨ As a team that primarily works in Autodesk Maya, we expected a steep learning curve, but transitioning to Unreal Engine turned out to be more intuitive than we thought. 💬 To all our animator friends, what’s holding you back from trying animation in Unreal? . . . #UnrealEngine #GameDevelopment #RealTimeAnimation #AnimationWorkflow

📣 Exciting news/Mini announcement!!! 📣 I have been writing a lot, lately, but over the last couple of years, I have also been working on a complex work of fiction, based firmly in my research on technology and the future of humanity, which has become a beautiful short film, via the magic of Unreal Engine and working with a great set of collaborators, for our new story-telling platform, SNTIENT. --- Our story is set many decades from now, in a city called MegaDistrict 4. Society lives under the control of 2 giant corporations and personal data is being harvested at unprecedented levels – with differing qualities of life and opportunities for those opting in vs. those opting out.  Thousands of humanoid robots are living amongst us, performing all of the "dull, dirty and dangerous" tasks.  Climate change and growing food for sprawling populations have become urgent priorities. Quantum computers at the heart of the city make millions of decisions per second, keeping the masses safe, happy, and in check...      What happens next is the “Awakening” – an inflection point in society and life as we know it – where the droids in this civilisation receive an unplanned and unsanctioned update, giving them the ability to reprogram themselves and become “sentient” for the first time. Will the newly sentient members of society choose to assert their dominance and oppress their human counterparts, or to explore their newfound freedom and express their own creativity, through art, fashion, music and collaboration? --- The story came about through a discussion with my long-time friend and colleague Matthew Drinkwater, where he was talking about what the future of entertainment and brand engagement could look like, if we had a compelling story that people could relate to, linked to multiple aspects of our current lives; crucially, our story would need to span any and all channels of media and entertainment.  We wanted to create something that linked to all levels of fandom, that would allow brands/creatives from any disciplines to interact and collaborate with us.  We needed to work with some very talented artists, to turn these stories/ideas from our conversations into a tangible world that we could share with other people and interact with. Matthew reached out to Niall Thompson and Dickon Knowles from dandelion + burdock, and through working with them and a wider team of amazing artists, SNTIENT was born. Huge thanks to my co-creators named above, also to Alec Strang, Oliver Soto, M. Caner O. for your incredible work in making this a reality and also to Sallyann Houghton and Tianxiao Wang at Epic Games for your support.   Check out the film below – we officially launch today! Let us know what you think and also give us a shout if you would like to explore creating the next chapter with us, or building out a story within this world for your own brand. More to follow soon....!   #SNTIENT #CrossMedia #TransMedia #Storytelling #UnrealEngine #Futurism

    Business Development at Epic Games

It was an honor to sponsor the American Society of Civil Engineers Solutions Summit yesterday - a series of panels addressing the newly released Infrastructure Reportcard. Joseph Spadea of Pennoni participated in a panel on improving bridges and ports and weighed in on the value of Unreal Engine for communicating engineering concepts to stakeholders. Epic and Pennoni will be speaking more in depth about a couple of projects at the Game Changers rooftop event tomorrow at the Hall of States, a continuation of this week's ASCE Infrastructure Reportcard events. Thank you Joe for your contribution and hard work, and thank you ASCE (esp. Sean Scully) for the warm welcome. It was great to see the surprise on so many faces when we shared that about 25% of the summit's attendees worked at companies already using Unreal Engine, Twinmotion and RealityCapture. We look forward to a continued relationship with Pennoni and the ASCE!
