With our assistance, Operation Finally Home was able to provide a mortgage-free home to a family with four boys whose parent suffered a severe injury while deployed. The parent and family had been working so very hard to provide for their, this gift was a deserved surprise! Thank you to associates Linnie Law and Carlie Motter for bringing this organization to our fold. #PillarsWithPurpose #Philanthropy #AssociateDrivenPhilanthropy #OperationFinallyHome #Veterans #NonProfit #GivingBack #HomesForHeroes
About us
In 2018, Upstream’s Pillars with Purpose Benevolent Funds were created. Pillars Funds are the first ever formal, tax-deductible, associate-driven charitable program that provides a way for both associates and patients to give back, lending support to one another and to worthy causes at home and around the world. Our goal is not just to treat the symptoms of problems but to effect lasting and positive change. Since Hurricane Helene struck, Upstream Rehabilitation's dedicated task force has been hard at work, meeting daily to assess the situation and determine how best to support those affected. Thanks to the incredible efforts of our associates, vendors, and patients, we’ve raised just over $22K to date, with $18,000 already granted to local non-profits across the affected areas. All donations received through October 31 will be sent to North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia, South Carolina, and Florida. Our Emergent Needs Fund is providing immediate and ongoing relief, but there’s still more we can do together! Your contributions are helping rebuild communities, and we’re grateful for the outpouring of care and support. Let’s continue lifting up our Upstream Family and communities. We are pleased to announce that Pillars has granted $3,000 to HopeBUILDERS Home Repair, Inc., a nonprofit that helps low-income older adults and people with disabilities in the Kansas City Metro area live in safe, accessible, and healthy homes. They provide accessibility solutions (ramps, door widening, and bathroom modifications) and other critical home repairs. Associate volunteers from SERC Physical Therapy, part of the Upstream Rehabilitation family of brands, raised funds as part of their "Change to Make Change" drive and also helped to build a ramp for a 4-year-old boy with cerebral palsy who uses a power wheelchair to navigate into and outside of his home. A very special thank you to our own Alexis Rafferty, a member of the Pillars Ambassador program who has been relentless in her efforts to fundraise and work with HopeBuilders to secure a volunteer opportunity for her team. Her passion and drive to help others were evident throughout!

Flash Back Friday: Our Upstream team worked with some nonprofits that assisted with tornado recovery efforts in Mississippi. The donations were made through Upstream’s Pillars with Purpose, which awarded: $5,000 to Samaritan's Purse, a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization, to help with the cost of providing reinforced mobile homes to dozens of homeowners displaced by the March tornadoes. $5,000 to First Baptist Church Rolling Fork, which has helped residents in that town cover the costs of short-term housing, storage units, clothing and other daily needs resulting from the storms. $3,500 to Mercy Chefs, a faith-based disaster and humanitarian relief organization that provided meals to first responders in Rolling Fork in the immediate aftermath of the tornadoes. Since 2018, Upstream's Pillars with Purpose has supported programs serving hundreds of communities in the United States and worldwide. Our Pillars Funds are tax-deductible, associate-driven charitable programs that provide a way for both associates and patients to give back lending support to one another, and to worthy causes at home and around the world.
