About Andy
Andy Alan is a partner in the advisory practice. He specializes in business valuation, intangible asset valuation, and litigation support services.
Andy has worked with clients ranging from start-up operations to large Fortune 500 companies in a variety of industries. He has managed complex projects for strategic planning, financial reporting, buy- and sell-side M&A analysis, corporate restructuring, purchase price allocation, fresh start accounting, asset impairment analysis, tax planning and compliance, financing, investments, derivatives, securities, and others.
His experience includes appraising companies and intangible assets for litigation purposes related to family law cases, commercial litigation, and bankruptcy litigation. Prior to joining Marcum, Andy spent 15 years with a “Big Four” accounting firm where he led Florida valuation efforts for engagements related to financial reporting, tax planning and compliance, financial modeling, and other financial advisory issues.
He has served as a fair value specialist on hundreds of valuation reviews to determine the acceptability of third party valuations for audit engagements, as well as participated in multiple PCAOB reviews as the fair value specialist.
He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation from the CFA Institute.
