The iconic comedian, talk show host, and Emmy-Award winning actor Ellen DeGeneres is coming out with comedy special later this year that she says will be her last. This latest stand-up — her second with Netflix — comes six years after 2018’s Relatable, in which she dished on her road to stardom and some of the lessons she learned along the way.

DeGeneres, who just ended 19 seasons of The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2022, knows there’s a lot to dig into: “To answer the questions everyone is asking me, yes, I’m going to talk about it. Yes this is my last special. Yes, Portia really is that pretty in real life.” Along with this stand-up, DeGeneres is also beginning a multi-city stand-up tour on June 19th, starting in San Diego.

Her new special will be produced by Ben Winston and Fulwell73 and will land on Netflix later this year. “There is nobody quite like Ellen,” says Robbie Praw, the Vice President of Stand-Up and Comedy Formats at Netflix. “She is a true legend and pioneer in so many ways. We can't wait to bring fans another one of her hilarious comedy specials later this year.”

DeGeneres was honored with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor, by President Obama for her extraordinary contributions to notable change and progress in the United States. And in 2023, her passion and commitment to animals was featured in the two-hour special, Saving the Gorillas: Ellen’s Next Adventure, on the Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, Max and discovery+.

Check back soon for more details on when DeGeneres’s new special will be on Netflix. And until then, you can stream Relatable right here.
