This pack includes 9+ abilities used by Ketheric Thorm and other Myrkulites through act 2, as well as a new transformation spell that lets you turn into the Apostle of Myrkul.

Myrkul's General - Ability Pack

I was a bit reluctant to make this mod at first considering there's already a few necromancy mods out there that allow you to use some npc spells, but I just had to complete the Dead Three after making a Bane and Bhaal mod. Also, a few people asked if I was going to make this so it gave more motivation :)

Some of these abilities are already available in the base game (Howl of the Dead, Ghoulish Touch, Exhort the Risen) but were slightly buffed in some way, and at the very least to remove the annoying short rest cooldown.

All the abilities are available after drinking the new tutorial chest potion or by wearing Ketheric's Warhammer (Deadly Orders and Hordestrike) and Reaper's Embrace (Howl of the Dead, The Dead Wastes, Spectral Form, Incubate Death, Apostle of Myrkul). Ghoulish Touch and Exhort the Risen are still available by wearing the Ring of Exalted Marrow just like in the base game. Works best by playing a Paladin Oathbreaker or Wizard Necromancer (or both)

Note: everything was tested in the tutorial so I'm not completely sure the Myrkul avatar transformation won't be a bit janky in some areas.

  • Apostle of Myrkul: transform into the apostle of Myrkul for 10 turns. You gain 6 new abilities (Reaper's Scythe: 3d12 Slashing + 3d4 Necrotic damage, Call of the Damned: 3d10 Necrotic damage and pulls everyone towards you, Consume the Faithful, Gaze of the Dead: 4d8 + 2 Necrotic Damage and can frighten the target, Cold Embrace: 2d8 Slashing + 2d6 Necrotic damage, Finger of Death: 6d8 +20 Necrotic damage) and an aura that inflicts Bone Chill to nearby enemies. Consuming an ally undead with Consume the Faithful allows you to use Finger of Death for 1 turn. Cost: Bonus Action
  • Deadly Orders: command your allies to attack an enemy. Everyone gains advantage on the target, and you're allowed to use Hordestrike for a Reaction when the target is attacked by an ally. Cost: Action
  • Hordestrike: jump in the air and throw a spectral hammer on your foe. Deals 3d8 Force + 1d8 Necrotic damage and can inflict Bane on the target for 2 turns. Cost: Action or Reaction (if used after an ally struck an enemy inflicted by Deadly Orders)
  • Howl of the Dead: numbs enemies around you in a larger radius than the original and also makes them vulnerable to Necrotic damage for 3 turns or until hit. Cost: Bonus Action
  • Incubate Death: spawn a skeletal involucre that explodes after 1 turn, dealing 3d6 + 3 Necrotic damage and summoning a Necromite to help you in combat. Allows you to summon from 1 to 3 Necromites at once. Cost: Bonus Action and available once every short rest.
  • The Dead Wastes: open a necrotic rift on the ground. Its aura deals 2d8 Necrotic damage to living creatures and heals the undead for 2d8 hit points after their turn. Allies inside it gain Rejuvenating Miasma and can use Animate Dead without a corpse on the ground. Cost: Action and requires concentration
  • Spectral Form: adopt your spectral form for 1 turn and gain resistance to various damage types (Acid, Fire, Lightning and Thunder) as well as immunity to Cold and Necrotic damage. Allows you to fly and inflict Bone Chill to your attackers. Cost: Action
  • Ghoulish Touch: same as the original (deals 3d6 Necrotic damage and possibly Paralyze the target) with the short rest cooldown removed. Cost: Action
  • Exhort the Risen: version of Command usable on Undead creatures, with short rest cooldown removed. Cost: Action
