This mod aims to bring
new spells, and some current in game spells to
Arcane Rings. Currently 45+ spells have been attached to
unique rings. Every ring is a stand alone item. No vanilla Baldur's Gate 3 content(Rings) are overwritten, so all non magical vanilla rings currently in game are still available to be looted during your adventures.
Some spells added to this mod are completely new homebrews. All spells have full casting/target effects, custom tooltip icons, spell icons, and some have added voice effects. The custom icons and tooltip icons are matched to the art style of vanilla icons and tooltip icons so the mods art will be seamless with the vanilla artwork. Also worth noting, every ring has unique custom art as well, so you'll definitely know when you've found a ring of the arcane. No 2 rings are alike, and I also made sure rings and the spells attached, are very similar in likeness with each other.
Getting back to the home brew spells. I tried to get creative with these spells, and make them fun and interesting to use. You'll never get sick of casting Magic Mud Pies;) There's also some vanilla spells included as well that are currently in game.
Spells added are set to be level 1 and level 2 spells, there's also one cantrip. Equipping the rings allow any user to cast the attached spell, no matter what your character class or level is. Using the spells costs an Action Point to cast, and you can cast it every short rest. The only exception is The Ring of Mind Mastery which can be cast every turn. All Arcane Rings are marked as "Common", and they will be found as loot/treasure, or may show up in a few traders inventories.
NOTE: ONLY TRADERS FROM ACT 1 HAVE ARCANE RINGS TO TRADE. THIS IS ONLY TEMPORARY UNTIL I CAN FIGURE OUT WHERE TO PUT MORE TRADE LOCATIONS IN LATER ACTS. RINGS CAN STILL BE FOUND AS LOOT IN ACT 2 AND 3 in chests or containers. Spells are balanced accordingly for my liking. They've been set so they're not too over powering, but still have a little kick.
They'll add a new hint of spice to your battles, and help curve the spamming of the same old Eldritch Blast, or Magic Missiles. With 45 rings at your disposal, you will feel the power of the arcane! Just slip on a ring, and let the power surge though your fingers! Become the spell caster of your dreams!

Ring Locations
ACT 1: Location 1 (Cheat)
Cheat and find all 45 Arcane Rings for free in a chest when you first start a new game.
The Cartilaginous Chest (AKA Tutorial Chest) in the dead end room of Mind Flayer ship, the one with the health potion,
holds all all the Arcane Rings from this mod.

ACT 1: Location 2 (Acquire legitimately)
You can also buy the items from the first merchant(Arron) you meet at The Hollow in the Druids Den.
Or you can find the rings as loot/treasure, and possibly on a few NPC's/Traders

ACT 2-3: Location 3 (Acquire legitimately)
Find the rings as loot/treasure.
(ARCANE RINGS WILL EVENTUALLY BE ADDED TO ACT 2-3 TRADERS IN A LATER UPDATE)

This mod has been packaged in such a way that it will/should be compatible with all other mods in your load order.
As Baldur's Gate 3 grows through it's development process, so will this mod. Future plans include
adding the Arcane Rings as unique items, as not to overwrite any Larian Studios vanilla content.
Adding new custom icons for each spell, so it will be less confusing in your spell book.
Adding new homebrew spells. I still have some spell ideas up my sleeve:) Also, eventually possibly adding arcane jewelry traders in different areas/chapters of the game. This one most likely won't happen until the official toolkit is released though. Until then, I will keep this mod updated as much as my free time allows.
See below for a few different install methods available for popular Mod Managers used for Baldur's Gate 3.
Also, manual install methods have been included. Please choose the method that is right for you.
Method 1 -
VORTEX: (Use
Vortex to install automatically)
Method 2 -
BG3 Mod Manager:1. Extract the archive.
2. Copy paste the .pak file into C:\Users\YourPCName\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\Mods
3. Open BG3 Mod Manager and drag the mod from the right window to the left window.
4. Click the "Export Order To Game" button (this writes the mod settings)
5. Install complete, start your game
Method 3 -
Manual:1. Extract the archive.
2. Copy the .pak file from the extracted archive.
3. Paste into: C:\Users\(Your PC Name)\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\Mods
4. Navigate to: PlayerProfiles\[Profile Name]\modsettings.lsx
5. Open modsettings.lsx with your notepad or similar app.
6. Make sure your modsettings look like this: NOTE - These lines can be copied from below
7. Save the file.
8. Install complete, Enjoy!

2. Highlight and delete the .pak
3. Navigate to: PlayerProfiles\[Profile Name]\modsettings.lsx
4. Open modsettings.lsx with your notepad or similar app
5. Remove these lines under <node id="ModOrder"> <children>
6. Save the file
7. Un-Install complete.
