⫸ About:
This was a request to convert the Body Type 2 Human Head 8 to Type 4, as it is currently missing from the game. Available now for BT4 Human, Elf, Half-elf, and Tiefling.
The head is standalone and has been scaled up the best I could while trying to keep the facial proportions close-ish to the Type 2 version.
Uses a custom skeleton so the animations, piercings, and beards should all fit a bit better.
Alternate Zazz Version
The same mod but the eyes use Tiefling eye materials. For use with Custom Tav Unique Appearance.
Both normal and zazz versions may be installed at the same time.
⫸ Installation:
- Unzip the downloaded file/s and place the jerinski_HUM8_BT4.pak and/or jerinski_HUM8_BT4_zazz.pak into your game's Mods folder:
..\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\Mods
- Use BG3 Mod Manager and move mod from Inactive over to Active Mods. Save load order and then Export to game.
- In CC you should now see a new Head Icon [?] for Humans Body Type 4 named: Head 8 strong and/or Head 8 strong zazz
To update mod just overwrite the .pak in your Mods folder.
Installation for the loose file request:
FAIR WARNING for loose file usage: head mods with custom skeletons, when loaded loose like this, can potentially have some animation oddness in cutscenes. If that's the case I cannot support it and simply recommend using the pak version!
- Unzip the downloaded file, open it.
- Drag and drop the Data folder into your game's base directory
(e.g. the default with Steam is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3 ) - If you are prompted to Replace, do so. Everything should automatically go into place. Done!
To uninstall follow these paths:
- Head: ..\Data\Generated\Public\SharedDev\Assets\Characters\_Anims\Humans\_MaleStrong\Resources -> the 1 gr2 file
- Armature: ..\Data\Public\SharedDev\Assets\Characters\_Anims\Humans\_MaleStrong -> the 1 gr2 file
- Textures: ..\Data\Generated\Public\Shared\Assets\Characters\_Models\Humans\HUM_M_NKD\HUM_M_Head_A\Resources -> the 3 dds files
⫸ Notes / Issues:
- Zazz Version: as of v1.0.4 is compatible with Unique Tav which means you will need it if you want tattoos/makeup to show up.
- Regarding head VFX: Current understanding is that these don't merge with other head mods with VFX, and which one "wins" does not have to do with load order but alphanumeric order in your mods folder. So if you want a particular head mod to be the one to use VFX, change the .pak name in the mods folder to e.g. zz_jerinski_HUM8_BT4.pak. A community patch could be in the works though!
- There are some beards where the sideburns don't quite line up, but that happens on vanilla heads as well so it's probably a separate beard mesh
issue. - I may have accidentally made Jason Momoa. This is fine.
