PREVIOUS VERSIONS COMATIBILITY ISSUE
Ignore if you never used older versions
It's due to my peanut brain, and because I unnecessarily changed .pak file names, the game will throw an error and your mod
load order if you try to use the new update in the save using older version of the mod.
[1.3 and below]
Please follow this steps before launching your game to avoid it.
HOW TO FIX IT
I. EASY FIX
That needs to be repeated with each update of this mod -
as long as you wish to use it with the save that used older version of this mod
It may not be the best fix out there, but it's the one I tested, it's relatively easy, and I know it works
So
If you used versions 1.1 / 1.2 / 1.2 fix / 1.3 and want to use 1.35 vanilla / EotB / uTav / EotB + uTav
[ also applies for any further updates ]
you'll have to manually change the name of the mod .pak file to the previous version you were using, so:
1. Check the current version of this mod in your Mod Manager
all of those version will be named ★Loiru_MalePack★ - or similar - in your ModManager, but if you hover over it with
your mouse, there will be .pak name at the bottom of the pop-up window. It will be one of those:
HBP_Loiru 1.1.pak
HBP_Loiru 1.2.pak
HBP_Loiru 1.2_fix.pak
HBP_Loiru 1.3.pak
Remember that name
2. Now you need to go into your mods folder
%LocalAppData%\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\Mods
Or from your Mod Manager upper left corner
GO > Open mod folder [CTRL+1]
3. Now delete previous version and install the current one > via Mod Manager or do it directly in your game mod folder by drag-and-drop
In the mod folder - change the name HBP_Loiru.pak to one of the version you were using previously.
4. Refresh your Mod manager F5 > move the mod to active list > CTRL+S > CTRL+E by default [ save and export load order to the game ]
If you already deleted the previous version, and don't know which one you were using
it will be trial and error process until you find the one you were using
It's an easy but temporary fix - only for saves that were using older version >
If you plan to start new game with this mod, make sure the name of the file stays HBP_Loiru.pak
II. MORE COMPLICATED - BUT PERMAMENT FIX
You'll need Norbyte LSLib ExportTool > inside the downloaded .zip file there is ConverterApp you'll need
Some kind of text editor - Notepad ++ is ideal, but any text editor will do
this amazing .pdf guide by blightedmods that step-by-step walks you through the process of editing your save file
I couldn't explain it better myself
In short - you'll need to manually delete the old version of my mod from the save file you want
to load - with LSLib tool - and let the game 'connect the dots' and automatically load your save
using the new version of this mod
In fact - you can follow blightedmods guide to manually remove other mods causing the
different mod settings error in your saves - it may not work for all of them
but there is a good chance it'll work
So after you successfully deleted traces of my mod from the meta.lsf of your save
you can download the new version and load into your save just like that.
After that you don't have to touch it ever again - just update as any other mod.
Q & A
Q: My head is floating and not animating correctly, what do I do?
A: Set Animation LOD to High in your game settings, it should fix it.
*If your head is disappearing while zooming out - please report it to me. I tried to go over all of the presets to make
sure this wont happen again, but lately weird things were happening with exported models. Even as I
made changes within the models, I had to export them at least two times before the changes took hold..
