COMPATIBILITY
  • Patch 6 Hotfix 9 (game version 4.1.1.5022896) checked for changes relevant to v1.1.1 of this mod - none found.
Version 1.1.1 of the mod is 100% compatible, the mod does not need updating.
  • Patch 6 Hotfix 8 (game version 4.1.1.5009956) checked for changes relevant to v1.1.1 of this mod - none found.
Version 1.1.1 of the mod is 100% compatible, the mod does not need updating.
  • Patch 5 Hotfix 2 (game version 4.1.1.4145012) checked for changes relevant to v1.1.1 of this mod - none found.
Version 1.1.1 of the mod is 100% compatible, the mod does not need updating.
  • Patch 5 (game version 4.1.1.4061076) checked for changes relevant to this mod - there are some insignificant changes in "Infernal Fury" and "Rage Frenzy" - nothing game breaking, but i suggest using the updated version 1.1.1 of the mod which includes those changes.
  • Patch 4 Hotfix 3 (game version 4.1.1.3956130) (also called "Hotfix #11") checked for changes relevant to v1.1.0 of this mod - none found.
  • Patch 4 Hotfix 1 (game version 4.1.1.3911062) (also called "Hotfix #10") checked for changes relevant to v1.1.0 of this mod - none found.
Older version of the mod (1.1.0) is compatible with both "Hotfix #10" and "Hotfix #11".
Latest version of the mod (1.1.1) requires game updated to "Patch 5" (4.1.1.4061076) or newer.

The mod removes various annoying effects from many spells and abilities by altering only corresponding effects' XML files.
As such it should be safe to use regardless of your game version (worst thing that can happen is that an effect that this mod should remove, wouldn't be removed, but it shouldn't break anything).
No spells or any other kind of data records are touched, so there shouldn't be any conflicts with any mods changing spells, abilities, etc.
As long as any spells are using any of the effects modified by this mod, those modified effects won't be visible (even if it is a brand new spell added by another mod, as long as it references any of the effects modified by this mod).
If another mod changes which effect is used by a spell, then of course this mod won't have effect on that spell's effect anymore.

KNOWN ISSUES

  • None at the moment.

INSTALLATION
The mod comes in two variants, both using loose files.

  • Main File
A "BG3 Replacer" type of mod, intended to be installed using a Mod Manager capable of installing loose files under the game installation folder. The "Public" folder contained inside the package archive must go into the "Data" folder under the game's installation path, eg.: "C:\...\Baldurs Gate 3\Data\Public"

  • Optional File
A simple archive of loose files with an installation batch file, allowing you to pick and choose which options you want. Unpack the archive anywhere you want, edit the BAT file and follow the simple instructions inside (look at the pictures in the image section), and then run it. This is the RECOMMENDED way of installing the mod, but obviously requires MANUAL INSTALLATION, so it may not be for everyone.

UNINSTALLATION

  • If you installed the Main File using your Mod Manager, use it again to uninstall the mod.

  • If you used the BAT file to install the mod, run the BAT file again and answer "Y" to the question "Remove previously installed files?", then answer "N" when it asks whether to install files.
NOTE: it will remove any loose files that are part of the mod package, but regardless of where the installed files came from - even if they weren't installed by this BAT file, but came from some other mod, or you copied them manually.

List of affected spells/abilities/weapons

Some effects are shared by several different spells/abilities/weapons, which won't be listed here, because it would be very tedious to go over everything in the game to gather a complete list of what is affected.
So, before making a request, please use the default options first to see whether your request isn't already handled as a by-product of some existing change.
