About this mod

A small mod that adds four new spells to Four Elements and one new spell to Open Hand monk.

Requirements
Permissions and credits
Requires UnlockLevelCurve by nitram166 or any mod that adds progression past level 12 if you want normal progression. Might make a level 12 version or lower level version later or smth.

Note: This mod was made for personal use. With that, I don't intend on maintaining this often, so I'm giving the community permission to mess around with the files as long as you give credit. I just wanted to put this out here so it wouldn't be sitting on my SSD collecting dust, or whatever.

With this mod, monks gain the following at level 17. These were pulled directly from 5e.

Four Elements
  • Breath of Winter (8d8 base | 9d8 Improved Casting)
  • Eternal Mountain Defense
  • River of Hungry Flame (5d8 base | 6d8 Improved Casting)
  • Wave of Rolling Earth  -> Currently not obtainable from spell list, see below  [1]
  • Surge of the Lightning Serpent (9d8 base | 10d8 Improved Casting) -> Homebrew
Open Hand
  • Quivering Palm (Kill or 10d10)

I also added the ability for 4E monks to get all spells by level 20, cause I found it annoying how few spells you'd get access to, even in 5e

Limitations:
  • Because Level Maps in this game are hard-coded to not go over Level 12, I can't smooth out the leveling curve between 13-20 properly. I'll include an optional file later that adds scaling up to the max (20) level; just keep in mind that if you use it, you'll be doing a good amount of damage by level 12 and onward. Hopefully Larian adds support for proper scaling in the future. 😔

Notes:
[1] Functionally, Wave of Rolling Earth works. But for some reason, the earth pillars are invisible. IDK why. I had it removed from the spell list and created my own homebrew spell to replace it for now.
[2] I couldn't figure out a way to decouple succeeding and failing saving throws from one another, so necrotic damage is set up to always proc regardless of hit or miss. The skill works as intended; it'll just do redundant necrotic damage on a fail.
