BG3 Noira's Mod Piercing Improvement (PI) - Physics
ALWAYS INSTALL THE LAST VERSIONif you face issues with the mod => it might fix bugs
Description This mod adds physics to vanilla piercings, so they look animated when the character moves.
To replace existing piercings and get compatibility with piercing sets mods, use the file Piercings with Physics - Overrides vanilla.
To add new piercing sets instead, use the file Piercings with Physics - Adds new Sets.
(Optional File: adds all possible options of each piercing sets I added physics on.)
This mod is a W.I.P I'll add physics on all piercings, the time I find the correct settings to avoid collision issues and get realistic moves. New piercings will come as well, like chains and two anchor ones.
In the meantime, I'm developing an addon for Blender that imports/edits/exports physics data on piercings and hair. I'll post it on Nexus and Github when it is ready enough for a public sharing. With it you'll be able to create your own custom piercings and hair with physics.
If you are a modder who wants a patch for your piercing mod, do not hesitate to contact me.
How to Use it In Game Select the piercing from the regular Character Creator > Body Art > Piercings >
To add physics on Gale's earring, install my Gale Edits mod:
in BG3 MM: Overrides section => Right click on the mod > Allow in Load Order
BG3 MM mod order: Gale edits before PI mod.
Install one file only: Piercings with Physics - Overrides vanilla OR Piercings with Physics - Adds piercings
Q&A
Does it work with piercing set mods? It does if you use the "overrides vanilla" version.
Piercings are not moving in game, and/or the new sets are not available. How to fix it? It happens when the mod is not properly loaded. Make a clean installation in BG3 Mod Manager to fix it:
Uninstall the mod by making a permanent delete
Refresh
Save order
Export
Install the mod again
Save order
Export
Will physics be added on other vanilla piercings? All vanilla piercings will be edited, the time I find the best physics settings for each of them.
Will extra piercing mods be patched? If the mod author agrees, I will make patches. Some are already a W.I.P.
Will new piercing models be added? It is on my todo list for the next versions. In particular chains and two anchor piercings.
Does it work on NPCs and companions? It does work on NPCs if you use the "overrides vanilla" version. It works on companions if you use a mod that allows companion editing, like Appearance Edit Enhanced.
Will physics be added on Gale's earring? It is done from version 2.0.0. It requires to install my Gale Edits mod.
And what about hair physics? In parallel of this mod, I'm preparing the release of another one that edits vanilla hair physics to improve it, to get more realistic ponytails, moving strands and short hair styles. No ETA yet.
Credits Big thanks to Norbyte for his work on LSLib and the physics tool that saved me from hours of manual binary editing.
