What's Up with Heterochromia 4.0?
Like the other heterochromia mods before it, Heterochromia 4.0 allows your V to have two different/mismatched eyes.

  • The color/pattern of your V's right eye can be selected as usual in the character creator.
  • The color/pattern of your V's left eye will be static, and determined by the mod files you install.
  • NEW to 4.0: The eye shape will adapt correctly when you change your character's eye shape in the customization menu; you no longer need to select files based on your character's eye shape setting.

How Do I Pick My Files?
You will need to download and install the required framework mod: Morphtarget & AnimRig Additions

From Heterochromia 4.0, you will need two files*:
*Or four files, if you wish to install the mod for both FV and MV.

A [FV or MV] Base File
This is the part of the mod that separates the eyes, allowing them to use different appearances/materials. Choose a file based on which slot of the required framework mod, Morphtarget & AnimRig Additions, you want Heterochromia 4.0 to use.

If you try to use Heterochromia 4.0 without an appropriate Base file installed, it won't do anything.

A [FV or MV] LC File
The LC file determines the Left eye's Color. Choose a file based on what color/pattern/texture you want your character's left eye to use.

  • If you want the left eye to use one of the game's default/vanilla eye colors/patterns, or you want to use a color/texture/pattern from a mod that directly replaces the game's default/vanilla options, look in the 'Base Game & Replacers' folder and select the file that matches the description of the desired eye color/design option.

  • If you want the left eye to use an eye color/pattern from a mod that relies on the Default version of the Unique Eyes - Core framework, look in the 'Unique Eyes Framework - Default' folder and select the file that matches the number in the character creator of the desired eye color/design option.

  • If you want the left eye to use an eye color/pattern from a mod that relies on the Gradient version of the Unique Eyes - Core framework, look in the 'Unique Eyes Framework - Gradient' folder and select the file that matches the number in the character creator of the desired eye color/design option.

If you try to use Heterchromia 4.0 without an appropriate LC file installed, it will crash your game.

* It is possible to mix and match not just the colors/patterns of your V's eyes, but also the type. You can mix and match two different vanilla game colors/patterns, two colors/patterns from the same texture replacer mod, or two colors/patterns from the same Unique Eyes mod, OR you can have a vanilla game color/pattern on one eye and a modded color/pattern from a Unique Eyes mod on the other, or a color/pattern from a texture replacer mod on one eye and a modded color/pattern from a Unique Eyes mod on the other. It is not advised to try to use a Unique Eyes - Default mod on one eye and a Unique Eyes - Gradient mod on the other, as one or both mods may fail to display correctly.

How Do I Install the Mod?
  • If you have previously installed an older version of heterochromia and have any files that begin with NLD_Heterochromia 3.0 in your Cyberpunk 2077\archive\pc\mod folder, delete them.
  • Make sure you install the required framework mod - Morphtarget & AnimRig Additions
  • Download, unzip, and select the appropriate files, as explained above.
  • Put the .archive files in your Cyberpunk 2077/archive/pc/mod folder.
  • Enjoy!

How Do I Remove the Mod?

  • Delete any files that begin with NLD_Heterochromia 4.0 from your Cyberpunk 2077/archive/pc/mod folder.

Credits
Thanks to Soriyumi for first allowing me to rework this mod concept for patch 1.5. Her mod, Heterochromia 2.0, served as a direct inspiration for the precursor to this mod, Heterochromia 3.0.

Many thanks also to Halvkyrie; by giving permission to include certain Unique Eyes - Core files in this mod, she made it possible to offer far greater flexibility. Her guides and clear explanations have also walked me through some crucial parts of my modding experience, and I am, as always, grateful.

Thank you to Anrui, too, for helpfully explaining the mechanics of their mods to ensure full compatibility.

And as always, thank you to the toolmakers, particularly the team behind WolvenKit, as its ability to produce working morphtarget files was crucial in creating this far more convenient-to-use version of the mod.

If you find this mod useful, you can support me on Ko-fi.
