    If you have an issue getting CET to work, go on the discord and post in the support section for CET. #-cet-support

    The discussion section and the comment section here are not for posting bugs or troubleshooting. (so the discussion forum was removed, as was the bug report section because we want the bug reports on the github page or on discord)

    Again, the comment section is not for bug reports. If you have an issue, come onto the official modding Discord or post a bug report on the github page (CET not working for you is not a bug, that's a support issue and belongs on the discord)

    Follow the guide before asking for help on the discord.

    If installing via vortex, make sure to use hardlink deployment.
    Before asking for help, remove all previous installations of CET and manually install the most recent version. Vortex screws up, a lot.

    Note: We will only provide support for legitimate updated copies of the game and CET. If you're using an older version, you're on your own.

    So I have an issue with pulling up the command console. I've reinstalled twice and even gone to github to install the latest version from there (1.32.3) Every time i install the "bindings.json file is missing. I've also looked at the file components here on nexus and the file also isnt listed. Is there something I'm missing or is this just not included in the most recent version? Any help would be appreciated.

    thanks

      You have to launch the game with CET installed and a box should come up asking you to bind the CET console to a key of your choice.

      When that's done it should auto create the bindings.json file in the CET folder where your games is installed -  cyberpunk2077,  bin,  x64,  plugins,  cyber engine tweaks.  If you exit the game after doing that it should be there.  That's how it works for me anyway.

      You also need to make sure you have the correct version of CET installed for the correct version of the game.  That can also cause this problem

      So I've launched the game after installing CET several times. I've installed the current updated version 1.32.3 from both nexus and github just to be sure. I have yet to see the prompt box appear when launching the game asking for a key bind.

    If you happen to be using an older version of the game--specifically 2.12a--then you'll need to install version 1.32.0 of the mod. You may find it on CET's Github page.

    Perhaps this will help someone, I also had a problem with the menu not popping up at the start of game, although I have the latest version of game and the required Visual C++ installed (https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x64.exe).
    Deleting file "bindings.jsou" in a folder "Cyberpunk 2077\bin\x64\plugins\cyber_engine_tweaks" helped me personally. After removal, when starting the game, a menu appeared with binding for the console.
    I guess I just accidentally skipped this before and didn’t know how to turn on the menu. It's possible that all your other CET bindings will be deleted if you delete the file.

      This restored my CET. I really appreciate it. I didn't need to delete my bindings though.

      Thank you so much. I have tried so many different things and it seems I only needed that Visuals C++ to get it to pop up.

      No need to delete anything, just set this
      "cet": {
        "overlay_key": 0
      to 0 inside that json. There probably will be a bunch of numbers, which is the binding code or whatever, and who cares. It works and that's what matters. Value 0 resets the binding and on the next launch CET window will pop up as if you just installed it.

      You can open .json files with any text editor, notepad will do. If you can't find bindings.json file in this directory:
      Cyberpunk 2077\bin\x64\plugins\cyber_engine_tweaks
      then you probably doing something wrong.
      Again, if you already binded any key to open CET overlay it'll be a bunch of numbers there, not 0, like this:
      "cet": {
        "overlay_key": 54389324778
      When you find the file and the piece of code inside it delete the underlined numbers (i underlined them here, they won't be underlined in the file) and type 0 in their place. It's just a bunch of random numbers i typed, as an example, they'll be different in your case. Search for overlay_key inside bindings.json.
      Edit: Another thing that annoys the f*#@ out of me is the frequency of overlay failing to open. I'm going to roll back to v1.31.3, which is one version older, i believe. Had enough of this s#*! not working when i need it. I advise you to do the same, install v1.31.3.

    I'm really new to modding, at least with any kind of intention, but if a mod says it needs CET, does it really?
    I'm assuming yes, but how do I hide the tool bar, it is just permanently on my screen, I can shift it to the corner, but I have no idea how to use it properly, and only have it because other mods require it, so I personally have no need for the toolbar to exist.

      What toolbar? The CET menu is only needed if you want to do things, but you need to close it again in order to continue playing.
      If you have something that's permanently visible while playing, it's from another mod...

      Okay, that means two things, I installed cet wrong because I can play with the menu open, and I have no idea what I'm doing.

    Just to check, are the Steam Deck instructions up-to-date? Will installing vcrun2022 still work? Seem to be having trouble getting the latest version to work.

    If it's official version 1.32.3, you just need to update the game and VK to use it. If it is a pirated game, you can only continue to use 1.32.2, if the game version is 2.12, then you need to upgrade to 2.12H1 before you can use it.

    Hey you don't have a bug page so I'm posting here. The latest version doesn't the key binding I used for the last install of this mod isn't bring up the overlay and I'm given no option to reset the binding essentially braking this and every mod that relies on it. Needs a fix real bad.

      if you pirated the game, it wont work. If you own the game, then you probably just need to update your VC redist. See instructions on the mod page for how to do so.
