"
This is Gillean Jordan with N54 News. In an unprecedented collaboration, scientists and engineers from
Dynalar,
QianT, and
Zetatech have created a
new mandatory firmware update for
Temperature Control on their hardware. In a press release, a spokesperson for the collaboration team announced that the
update will be available for all MK4 and MK5 models from the collaborating brands. This update will
optimize data transfer between the thermo-reactive power core and the cooling system, emulating the
advanced temperature control system that
Militech and
Arasaka have in their military-grade hardware, technology that has positioned both corporations as giants in that specialized market.
Stay tuned to N54 News for more news on cyberware development."

Mod DetailsThis mod enables the activation on cooldown mechanic of the
Militech Falcon/Apogee in other brands (
Dynalar,
QianT,
Zetatech) but only for
MK4 and
MK5 models. This process is done automatically once this mod is installed and
will only work with those models, without changing their
time dilation strength,
duration or
cooldown.
- Upgraded Sandevistan models (Main file)- Dynalar MK4/MK4+/MK5/MK5+/MK5++
- Zetatech MK4/MK4+/MK5/MK5+/MK5++- QianT MK4/MK4+/MK5/MK5+/MK5++
But why?
Ssandevistan sytems have a charge bar (located in the icon that can be seen on the screen when you have a Sandevistan equipped) determined by
duration and their recharge time is determined by
cooldown (how much time it takes to the bar to be filled 100%).
On
regular models (no
iconic), if the charge bar is not 100% you can't activate the Sandevistan, even at 99%.
Iconic models, on the other hand, can be activated with any amount of charge, but it'll last less time active since the charge is not full.
For example, if you activate the Sandevistan at 10% of the charge, it'll last about 10% of the duration (actually a little less since sandevistan also have an "activation charge drain", so spamming it makes the charge to run out faster).
I think most players are "forced" to use
Iconic models due their "use on cooldown" mechanic, but its
slow-mo is too strong for regular vehicle usage and build variety becomes basically zero at endgame. With this change I try to make the player free to use any model based on their build/taste rather just for the QoL that is the "use on cooldown" mechanic, while preserving the vanilla identities, strengths and limitations of all the models included on this mod.
Compatibility
Should be compatible with any mod (if they don't change the vanilla Sandevistan internal names), including mods that changes the
slow-mo/time dilation strength,
cooldown,
duration,
cyberware cost or associated
effects/abilities, but only for the models of the list provided in the "
Upgraded Sandevistan models" section.
Optional FilesSandevistan Firmware Downgrade"Breaking news! The infamous netrunning legend Cyberwopss has attacked Militech and some users are experiencing cooling issues on their Sandevistan systems. Militech is currently investigating the attack and recommends users to perform a system scan as soon as possible."Nexus user
Dyrohc suggested a downgrade for the
Militech Falcon and
Militech Apogee (aka removing the "use on cooldown" mechanic from them and be like the regular Sandevistan), so I've made that suggestion and left it available as optional file in case someone else wants that version.
It can be installed at the same time with the
Main File and also has the same mod compatibility as the
Main File.
- Downgraded Sandevistan models (Optional file)
- Falcon MK4/MK4+/MK5/MK5+/MK5++
- Apogee MK5/MK5+/MK5++
