I'm not sure if I'm alone on this or not, but there are some items that just seem like a kindergartener colored them. So, slowly, I'm going through and fixing them. As I finish one, I'll update. At the moment there are only two but they bothered me immensely.
Please note: These are not recolors! They simply fix problems that occurred with the default and high res specular maps.

Hightown Wardrobe
Templar Shield
If you notice any items in game that could use a tweak, please let me know and I'll give it a whirl.
These will not mess with any existing recolors unless they also affect the specified items.
Install: extract to '...Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age 2\packages\core\override'
