WHAT IS GRACEBORNE
Graceborne is a mod overhaul still in its infancy. Heavily inspired by Bloodborne, its main goal
is to turn Elden Ring's base game into a more grim and sinister experience through multiple means.
In terms of content, the alpha adds a total of 22 armor sets, 35 weapons, 17 trick weapons and 5 firearms.
Followed by gameplay additions such as gun parrying, no equip load, quicksteps when locked on, perma-night,
Bloodborne-style healing, etc. It also replaces the appearance of several mobs and bosses to fit in the aesthetic
of the overhaul. The mod is in very early stages of development, and only today I could finish its alpha version.
! All of the new weapons and armor sets can be bought from my custom NPC vendor at the Cathedral of Elleh !
INSTALLATION
- Drop the contents of the Game folder in your Elden Ring directory, where the .exe is located
- Drop the Mod Engine 2 folder anywhere in the same drive where you have Elden Ring installed
- In the Mod Engine 2 folder, go to "config_eldenring.toml" and open it with a text file editor, preferably Notepad++, and look for the line
- Change the directory path accordingly, wherever that .dll is sitting inside the mod folder in your drive, make sure to write the path the same way the previous one was written, that is between the two spaced brackets [ "__" ] and using \\
- Download ReShade from here https://reshade.me/downloads/ReShade_Setup_6.1.1.exe and after running it select eldenring.exe, then select DirectX 10/11/12
- On "select preset to install", browse to your game directory and select GRACEBORNE.ini, then hit finish after it's done setting up
- Got to the Mod Engine 2 folder and launch the game by using launchmod_eldenring.bat. That should be it.
- It should be possible to load the mod in other ways, this is the method that works for me. Don't ask for help if you decide to do it differently.
DOWNGRADING
If your Elden Ring got updated beyond 1.10, here's how to downgrade it so you can play the mod. You will be downloading ~50GB of data,
ensure you have enough space + extra to store the files which will probably end up larger than the download size.
You cannot play vanilla online while you are running this outdated version. Seamless Co-Op is the only multiplayer that will function.
- Press Windows Key + R
- Type steam://open/console
- download_depot 1245620 1245621 4586391483365949586
- Find the downloaded files in steam\steamapps\content and so on, console will tell you exactly where
- Copy them to the game folder
- download_depot 1245620 1245624 4173907165901381087
- Find the downloaded files in steam\steamapps\content and so on
- Copy them to the game folder
KEEP YOUR GAME FROM UPDATING
- Right-click Elden Ring in your Steam library
- Click properties
- Click updates
- Change "Always keep this game updated" to "Only update this game when I launch it" (Mod Engine 2's launcher should keep you safe, just don't launch through Steam directly)
- Change "Allow background downloads while I'm playing" to "Never allow background downloads"
KNOWN ISSUES
- Opening the smith menu with a firearm in your inventory (not just equipped) will cause an instant game crash. To prevent this, store your firearms
- Sound modding is extremely unstable. If you experience crashes upon loading into the world or that several sounds from different sources (mostly enemies) are missing, displace the sd folder inside your mod folder somewhere else or change its name, so as the custom sound banks don't get loaded. However this means you would not be able to have custom sounds.
- Due to time constraints and inexperience, the overall balance of the included weapons is considerably inconsistent. Some may be busted and do too much damage, some others may feel weak. Feedback on this is appreciated.
- Elemental scaling of the included weapons does not work, despite displaying scaling values correctly.
- This mod will no longer work after tomorrow's update patch, if you want to play it by then I recommend making a backup of the current game version.
F.A.Q.
Q. Will you port X Bloodborne weapon?
A. It will depend on the support I get from Patreon, since porting trick weapons is an excruciatingly difficult process, demanding in both time and effort. But yes, more weapons will come in future updates.
Q. How long until the mod is working again after Elden Ring's DLC?
A. I am not certain, it depends on many factors, such as how fast will the toolmakers update their tools, or how much will the DLC conflict with my additions.
Q. Do you take commissions?
A. Yes, but I'll be on a bit of a break after the DLC releases. You can still contact me about inquiries on my Discord: corviannoctis
Q. I've merged your mod, can I upload it?
A. No, I do not allow my work to be reuploaded in any way. I hope you understand.
