Removes the creases and wrinkles that form when characters speak or have intense expressions. I haven't seen any face texture mods that modifies the wrinkle textures, so I decided to change it myself.
why make this mod? i want my character to look.. well.. like me lol. anyway some people just don't have forehead creases when they raise their eyebrows!! ..can't relate on that one though. am jealous.
This mod:
Replaces the "BaseFemaleHeadWrinkles_n.dds" and/or "BaseHeadWrinkles_n.dds" files with nearly blank ones.
Does not smooth out faces at all times- you'd need another texture that changes the base normal maps like the popular Valkyr, Natasha or Oni.
is therefore compatible with pretty much any face texture you're using !
Can affect males and/or females, option is in the installation.
Is unnecessary if you haven't noticed or don't care for smoother skin in the first place.
Applies to ALL human NPCs. i'd love to make it player-only but i don't have creation kit experience :(
A flat normal map texture might seem like it would remove details from the base normal map, but the wrinkles seem to have some kind of multiplicative effect rather than replacing the skin entirely. It preserves whatever texture you have, vanilla or modded.
this gif shows the change over vanilla skin. the wrinkles are more noticeable on a smoother skin texture. if you can't see the difference, focus on the contours of the cheekbones/jowls and the smile lines.
on a character with oni + natasha face textures and some makeup. the eyebags are due to the face sculpt.
