Description
A small mod to disable the trap barnacles from the Dalton Farm settlement for those unfortunate players where the trap radiation hazard, once triggered, is permanent.

It is possible to avoid the hazards by scrapping the barnacles prior to their activation. Unfortunately it's also possible that the 2 settlers initially assigned here will be first seen on top of them, guaranteeing their activation.

This mod disables the barnacles so they can't be activated. (Please note that this mod is a preventative, not a cure. If your game already has the radiation, it's baked into your save. I don't know how to fix that.)

Details: The wiki says the radiation from these things is strong but brief, like the other traps in the game. When I test it in a pure vanilla game, it's true, it's just a few seconds, about as long as it takes for the little cloud to dissipate. But when I install the Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch, the traps become permanent hot spots (see issue #22216). For whatever reason, in my game the hazard isn't deleted by the engine, not even after a cell reset. So settlers who relax on the beach are seen falling over dead, then regenerating, then repeating. Forever. I couldn't take it any more, so I made this mod. Feel free to use it even if you don't have this problem, those barnacles are ugly.

Update: Version 1.1 disables the trap barnacle lodged beneath the terrain(!!) at the Kingsport Lighthouse settlement.

Requirements
  • Game version 1.10.162 or later.
  • Far Harbor DLC.

Notes
  • ESL-flagged ESP, so it doesn't count against the 255 limit.
  • Does not break precombines or previs.
  • Only affects the 3 trap barnacles within the settlement border. Keep walking along the shore in either direction and you'll find more, but these shouldn't affect anything within the settlement.
  • Version 1.1 adds the triggerable but out-of-reach trap barnacle at Kingsport Lighthouse.
  • There are no trap barnacles at Longfellow's Cabin, only here. Evidently Ol' Longfellow hates them too.

Compatibility
  • Dalton Farm Remake. Yes. I had no issues, but know that Remake breaks precombines across 4 cells and has deleted navmesh. As a settlement mod, it should appear after my mod in your load order, which is how I tested it.
  • With version 1.1, mods affecting the Kingsport Lighthouse settlement should follow my mod in your load order.

Installation
Install using your favorite method. It should be safe to uninstall if necessary, as my mod just disables the traps rather than delete them.
