About this mod
Mod allowing you to discover and rescue domestic animals to assign to you settlements. Additionally allows you to move trapped (wasteland workshop) animals between settlements.

Updated 5/27/2023 Repackaged and re-released as an ESL tagged ESP. Please read the Important Considerations below as the old versions are not compatible with the new ESL tagged versions. The ESL tagged ESP will be the only version supported moving forward.
Important considerations Please READ :
- If you are running this mod or any of the mods below in an existing game, do not upgrade. Start a new game. The prior (prior to 5/27/2023) versions of these mods (non esl tagged) are not compatible. Do not mix the old (non esl tagged) versions with the new 'ESL Tagged' versions of the mods below; you will corrupt your saved game.

- Install the new 'ESL tagged' versions only into a new game, or in-progress games where 'none' of the above mods are/were installed.

I created this mod to complement my Recruitable NPCs and Moveable Covenant Settlers mods. During your wasteland travels you will discover and can rescue domestic animals, dogs, cats, brahmin which can then be assigned to your settlements. I wanted something like this for the same reasons I detail in Alternate Settler Recruitment page.
In version 2.0 there are a total of twenty animals to rescue; many are placed for early game discovery. I will be adding more animals around the Commonwealth in future updates. The animals placed by the mod are protected, and once rescued, they do not re-spawn.
Only animals added by this mod, or which have the workshop script attached can be rescued. You cannot rescue/recruit vanilla animals that exist in the base game.
For those who have asked for chickens and rabbits. I do not plan on adding either into Animal Rescue (see posts regarding this decision). I recommend Vanilla Barn Additions if you want to add chickens and rabbits to your settlements. See this mod's optional files for a patch mod to restrict the wandering of animals placed with Vanilla Barn Additions.
MOD Interactions:
- Animal Rescue should be compatible with Diverse Dogs ( but not fully compatible with the combined version that includes cats, see the next bullet regarding Diverse Cats) With Diverse Dogs installed you should see a bit more variety in the dogs placed by the mod.
- Animal Rescue is partly compatible with Diverse Cats and the author's combined version with both dogs and cats. These mods override my settings which make trapped cats moveable between settlements. Cats placed in Animal Rescue should continue to behave normally. If using Diverse Cats, cats trapped using the Wasteland Workshop can be made moveable by targeting the cat in the console and executing 'addkeyword workshopallowmove'. Unfortunately, my mod cannot make use of the cat variety in Diverse Cats due to the way the mod author implemented the cat skins. You will see variety if using the Wasteland Workshop cat trap however.
- In my testing. Animal Rescue works well with either SKK Workshop Ownership Utilities (settler management option) or QuickTrade Redux for trading with settlers.
I highly recommend loading Healthier Brahmins alongside my mod which improved brahmin appearance. Also consider Rename Anything if you want to give the animals unique names.
