i understand i cant replace the entire .ba2, but can i overwrite the content of the original .ba2 with yours? is the original mod not optimized textures-wise?
How to run the new FGEP - DE with the texture mod.
FGEP Definitive Edition has changed the ESP name and includes textures for two new enemies. For now, we do NOT want to overwrite or conflict with the new ba2.
Temporarily, the FGEP Performance Texture mod needs a dummy plugin named [ARRETH] FGEP.esp to load the ba2 from the FGEP Performance Textures mod.
Install this dummy plugin below the texture mod. I'll archive the file once FGEP Performance Textures is updated.
Thank you for this!! I started a playthrough with the base FGEP mod installed, but after quitting the game and relaunching, I kept crashing every time I tried to load the save. I received a Buffout 4 warning, "Warnings/CreateTexture2D failed with error code 0x80070057. This will crash the game." After googling the error code I found someone who determined FGEP was the culprit and they fixed it with this mod.
FOR MO2 USERS that installed the original FGEP through their mod manager, you need to download this mod the same way and place it below the base mod, so it overwrites it. Replacing the textures manually did not work for me, so I reinstalled FEGP and downloaded this through MO2 and I got my save file back.
You can just open mod folder and replace textures in there with these, or try to install my performance textures after original mod with Vortex. TBH I never used Vortex so can't be sure.
