About this mod

This patch makes Hunter of the Commonwealth (by Zzyxzz) work with Mutant Menagerie (by Delicon20).

IMPORTANT: This patch requires the recent 1.6.1 update (or future versions) of Hunter of the Commonwealth! Obviously also requires Mutant Menagerie.

Hunter of the Commonwealth and Mutant Menagerie have been an essential part of my load order since their releases. After waiting for ages for someone to patch these two fantastic mods, I finally decided to do it myself. All new species added by Mutant Menagerie can now be butchered, skinned and harvested according to HotC's mechanics.

About the loot
Mutant Menagerie has very detailed and intricate leveled droplists, which had to be integrated in HotC’s mechanics. Some of MM’s complexity is unfortunately lost in translation. However, I did my utmost best to show both mods the love and respect they deserve.

Meat
When using HotC, the amount of meat you’ll get depends on the size of the animal. I’ve tried to bring all new species more or less in line with the vanilla creatures and make sure the amount of meat you’ll get is reasonable. That said, in HotC’s MCM menu, you can change the amount of meat very easily. I personally reduce the amount by 50% or something, but that’s up to you.

Hides
MM differentiates between ‘poor’, ‘good’ and ‘perfect’ hides. This is no longer the case when using this patch. You’ll simply get the appropriate hide of the animal you’ve skinned without any further qualification. Why? I simply couldn’t figure out how to do it otherwise. Please mind that some creatures do not have hides (like bugs) and can therefore not be skinned.

Harvest
First of all, I have removed all random junk items, caps, weapons and armor from the lists. You will no longer harvest these. Instead, you’ll only harvest the actual animal parts (like organs, horns, hearts, mucus, honey, et cetera) and occasionally some components like oil, acid and perhaps even some adhesive if you’re lucky. But chances of actually harvesting things like organs have greatly increased, often up to 100%. These are mostly unique items added by MM. I believe this makes things more immersive, rewarding and fun, and it’s in line with what HotC does to the vanilla animals. Plus, I personally never liked finding weapons, armor and junk on animals in the game anyway and am all for a little loot reduction. This brings it more in line with mods like Damn Apocalypse and other survival oriented mods.

Legendary items will still appear on the animal.

Load order & ESL
Of course this patch should be placed below both HotC and MM. This patch is an ESL-flagged ESP. In Vortex, you can mark it as ESL in the plugins list and it won't count towards your plug-in limit.
