It always surprised me that even existing workshop brahmins have little to no use in settlements, farms have no chickens, rabbits, etc. so here I am with this very light solution. Herd rats in your Vault81, glowing radstag farm in Glowing Sea or whatever.

Requires Nuka-World, Far Harbor.

Workshop Cattle adds different "domesticated" animals from vanilla and DLC assets as a constructible object in workshop mode. They give you food resource, happiness and fertiliser. Some foods as a bait, and, for glowing variants, Nuclear Physicist perk + irradiated blood are required. Glowing variants produce more happiness because they look cool.


You can find them in Resources - Food menu

Animals don't need an assigned settler to produce food and they are unaggressive and invincible. They don't make items, only food rating to feed settlers.

Animals stick to the 2m radius of place where they were built. Stags eat grass, molerats do the pose, chickens make noise, all stock stuff works.


Animals are set to wander no further than 2m from the building point, unless they are pushed out by something. If this happens, they try to return - keep them in a pen with open gates or a room with open door for this case. They are invincible, attack no one and ignore combat. Scrap them to get rid of them.
Crow, Gull, Fish don't wander at all since they are just animated activators. They also can be shot, i guess.

Brahmin and Buffalo - produces 8 food
Cat: 15 happiness
Crow, Gull - 10 happiness
Fish - 2 food
Radstag, Gazelle - 8 food
Glowing radstag - 8 food, 25 happiness
Molerat, Radrat - 5 food
Glowing molerat, radrat - 5 food, 15 happiness
Radchicken, Radrabbit - 3 food


100% vanilla assets, no scripts, no vanilla forms edited, it's an ESL that won't affect your 256 plugin limit.

Constructible Guards living turrets are built in the same fashion and, unlike classical turrets, they need to be fed with something.
