An unofficial update to the CR-74L rifle found in the Creation Club CR-74L Combat Rifle content by asXas and Kris Takahashi that contains additions, adjustments, bug fixes, tweaks, and more.

The CR-74L is a really fun weapon to use and has a long, engaging quest to unlock all of the upgrades. I love the idea of a "wastelander-engineered" weapon that had a bit more power than pipe guns. With that in mind, I wanted to add some features to open this up to more playstyles while also adding it into the world so that it truly lives up to its origin.


FEATURES
  • Renamed weapon to Wasteland Rifle.
  • Changed the default ammo type to .223 caliber. Wasteland rifles that appear on Gunners will be chambered in 5.56mm.
  • Added the ability to swap between .223 caliber and 5.56mm ammo types.
  • Adjusted crafting recipes and perk requirements for many weapon attachments- particularly the barrels, stocks, and magazines.
  • Adjusted (and added) a number of mod collections and object templates so that weapons that appear in the world appear with a variety of attachments and upgrades.
  • Reworked receivers so that they more closely resemble the vanilla combat rifle's receiver options. This means that the weapon can now be semi-automatic or fully automatic.
  • Balance adjustments:
    • Changed ammo type from .45 to 5.56.
    • Lowered ammo capacity from 20 to 12.
    • Increased bash damage from 4 to 6.
    • Increased damage from 27 to 33.
    • Decreased attack delay from 0.30 to 0.25.
  • Added new attachments:
    • Quick Eject Magazine
    • Large Quick Eject Magazine
    • Quick Eject Drum Magazine
    • Short Night Vision Scope
    • Medium Night Vision Scope
    • Long Night Vision Scope
  • Added scripted weapon LL injection- weapon will start appearing on Gunners, Gunner bosses, Raider bosses, Minutemen, bosses, and as legendary drops starting at level 20. You do not have to finish the Way Back Home quest for this to take effect.
  • Weapons found on Gunners and Minutemen will have their respective faction weapon skins.
  • Removed the FeaturedItem and UnscrappableObject keywords for non-legendary wasteland rifles.
  • Fixed an issue where Creation Club weapon paints erroneously appeared as craftable.
  • Fixed an issue where the drum magazine used the wrong animations.
  • Added new firing sounds from snt2045's Power Combat Rifle mod. These do not overwrite any vanilla combat rifle sounds.
  • Modified Mary Jane's outfit to only have light leather armor instead of sturdy or heavy leather armor. (This is to prevent low-level players from having high-level armor earlier than intended.)
  • Mary Jane's body now has a few extra bottle caps and significantly fewer 5.56 rounds. (This is to prevent low-level players from having 100+ rounds of 5.56 ammo earlier than intended.)
  • Weapon paints/skins now uses the default weapon material attachment point and can be added and removed from any wasteland rifle.
  • Weapon skins now require 1 oil and 1 steel to craft to make it consistent with other Creation Club weapon skins.
  • Barrel, Coolant, and Receiver Schematics were given the NotJunkJetAmmo keyword. Additionally, all schematics were given a value of 30 caps and a weight of 0.5.
  • Reworded parts of the load screen text to reflect the new weapon name.
  • Adjusted a small handful names and descriptions to match the vanilla game's naming conventions.

  • Leveled Item Fixes (this mod uses the leveled list injection scripts included with LIF)
  • Munitions



INSTALLATION
Install using a mod manager such as MO2 or Vortex. Load order does not matter as much for this, as all Creation Club content has a fixed load order above all mods.



KNOWN ISSUES
KNOWN ISSUE: Many of the automatic receivers currently return the wrong loose mod when crafting. This will be addressed in an update in the near future, which will also add support for my upcoming mod Munitions.

The majority of weapon attachments can only be crafted after finding the appropriate schematics out in the world. This is not a bug, but instead a part of the original creation's quest line.

The Distributed DLC Leveled Lists mod will also add the CR-74L to the world via scripted LL injection. While you can use both mods safely, keep in mind that you may find an abundance of these weapons in the world if you use that mod with this one. Use at your own discretion.

Creation Club Delayed is compatible and highly recommended.
