An unofficial update to asXas' HK G11 mod that contains a number of adjustments, bug fixes, tweaks, additions, and more.

The G11 is a really fascinating weapon that was featured in Fallout 2. asXas' mod brought this weapon into Fallout 4, but I felt that it needed a few adjustments to really make it a fun addition to the vanilla sandbox.



FEATURES
  • Split weapon into three distinct variants:
    • Prototype Assault Rifle: Standard ballistic version. Fires 4.7mm caseless rounds from Munitions.
    • Prototype Energy Rifle: Standard energy version. Fires small energy cells from Munitions. Cannot take muzzle attachments. Replaces the Kraut Space Magic unique variant.
    • Institute Energy Rifle: Special energy variant found only on synths. Same as the Prototype Energy Rifle except that it has an Institute skin. Replaces the Robot Space Magic unique variant.


  • Balance adjustments:
    • Increased base firing speed from 1.0 to 1.2.
    • Reduced reload speed from 1.0 to 0.9.
    • Reduced weight from 7 to 4.
    • Reduced base damage from 30 to 28.
    • Reduced crit charge multiplier from 5 to 1.
    • Modified aim model to have more recoil and reduced the base stability from 1.2 to 1.0. (This should fix an issue in the base mod where scopes did not have any sway.)


  • Modified unique variants:
    • Ricardo's Revenge is now called Uncle Sam's Revenge. The texture was modified accordingly and the meme items were removed from the game. This now has the Bloodied legendary effect.
    • Jack in the Box kept the same name and unique reload animation. This now has the Poisoner's legendary effect.


  • Reworked existing attachments:
    • Muzzles can only be added/removed from ballistic variants.
    • Prototype Sight is now the Standard Scope. (The real-world HK G11 had a scope as its standard configuration.)
    • Rail attachment was kept, but the number of rail sight options were reduced to match the vanilla sight options.
    • Removed the burst fire selector.*


  • Added new attachments:
    • Long Light Barrel
    • Medium Light Barrel
    • Short Light Barrel
    • Standard Stock (this can't be removed or upgraded, but was included for consistency's sake)
    • Full set of laser receivers (energy variants only)
    • Quick Eject Magazine
    • Advanced Receiver (ballistic variants only)
    • Long Scope
    • Long Night Vision Scope
    • Medium Scope
    • Medium Night Vision Scope
    • Short Night Vision Scope


  • Brand new leveled list injection:
    • Prototype Assault Rifle: Weapon will appear on Gunner bosses, vendors, and as legendary drops starting at level 22.
    • Prototype Energy Rifle: Weapon will appear on Brotherhood soldiers, vendors, and as legendary drops starting at level 22.
    • Institute Energy Rifle: Weapon will appear on Institute synths starting at level 22.


  • Removed the original mod's quest. This shouldn't affect existing save games that already completed this quest.
  • Adjusted (and added a large number of) mod collections and object templates. This means that weapons you find in the world will have a much greater variety of attachment configurations.
  • Weapon paints/skins now use the default weapon material attachment point and can be added/removed from all G11 variants.
  • Adjusted a small handful of names and descriptions to match the vanilla game's naming conventions.


*There is an optional patch to re-enable burst fire mode. I do not recommend it nor will I provide support for it, as there is a bug in the original mod where it will not work correctly in third person while wearing power armor. Use at your own discretion.


Due to the new leveled list injection added by this mod, a new save is recommended so that the weapon isn't added twice into your game.



REQUIREMENTS


INSTALLATION
Install using a mod manager such as MO2 or Vortex. Make sure to load this mod after the original. For example:

  • G11.esp
  • G11 - Unofficial Update.esp



COMPATIBILITY & KNOWN ISSUES
This mod is likely incompatible with any other mod that alters the G11.

Patching may be required to work with mods such as Tactical Reload or See Through Scopes. I don't use either mod so I won't have patches for them.
