What Does this Mod Do?
This mod allows you to shoot through most walls, objects and props with reduced damage in real time. Now you don't have to rely on VATS to shoot through walls. This mod only changed vanilla weapons from the base game including the AK from the Nuka World DLC. This mod does NOT affect shotguns, lasers and gamma weapons. It only affects ballistic weapons and also works with any gun mod from Nexus that uses vanilla ammunition. 

How Does it Work?
Shooting at a wall will make the projectile, or "bullet" penetrate depending on the material, i.e. if you shoot a 10mm at a wooden wall, it will penetrate. All weapons have reduced damage -- down to ranging 80-60% from its base damage -- when going through a wall. All projectiles have spalling effects, each time you shoot through a wall, the projectile will travel in different directions on small increments just like in real life. Also, if the thing you are shooting at is far from that wall or object (10+ feet or so), it will not register the hit. 

Ricochets will only occur on floors and terrain. From my testing, some forms of terrain; dirt, rocks and sand have some level of percentage to bounce the projectile. Shooting at certain angles allows the projectile to bounce off and hit any npc, but the projectile does not have any impactfx when hitting something or someone. Damage levels also apply to the ricochet; 80-60%. Tracers also apply to the ricocheted projectiles. 

What does it Affect?
Penetration is limited to shoot through only 1 wall depending on the type of collision layer it's based on. It will not penetrate materials such as most rocks, some floors, some type of ceilings, npc's and invisible barriers. It will penetrate metal, wood, concrete, brick, all objects, all props and static interactable objects like cars, fire extinguishers, etc.


Known Issues
- Shotting at props will not apply any force meaning, if you shoot at a glass bottle it will not move. This is due to the way Bethesda created collision layers; there    are only a few types. It is possible to re-create collision on props, but you would basically have to re-create the entire game. 

- Shooting at water will not play the splashfx bullets normally have. This is because projectiles are now flagged as explosions and if you were to shoot at water, it would sound like normal explosions -- grenade or missiles -- hitting the water. To get around this I removed explosionsplashfx from vanilla records. This in no way breaks the game or harms your files; this is unfortunately the only way to stop hearing water explosions every time you get shot at near any body of water.

Compatibilities

This mod will work fine with any mod that adds new calibers or that affects ballistic properties as all this mod does is change collision layers and edit some flags. It is NOT compatible with Wasteland Ballistics. Enemy NPC's can shoot through walls with this mod enabled, but don't worry because their code limits them to only shoot at what they see, so you should not have any problems.
