About this mod

An attempt at reducing the amount of poison damage that Feral Spitters/Pukers from the "Feral Ghouls Expansion Pack" mod do, so that they're less miserable to face.

This mod is intended to be used by those who play with both FGEP and Feral Nights installed.


I play on Survival difficulty with both the Feral Ghoul Expansion Pack mod and the Feral Nights mod (which makes it so hoards of Ferals spawn after dark and continuously chase you down until you find a safe place to sleep/wait out the night).  These two mods work pretty well together for the most part.

The problem I have is that after a certain point (on the character I tested this patch on I was level 25-30) the hoards spawned by Feral Nights begin to mostly consist of Feral Spitters/Feral Pukers. The rate at which they attack combined with the amount of damage their spit does can be extremely miserable and kill you extremely quickly (this is with 10 in Endurance and a full suit of T-60b Power Armor).

So I downloaded FO4Edit and fiddled around some and came up with this patch. I increased the delay between each attack, so that one Spitter/Puker will only spit every 5 seconds. I also reduced the amount of poison damage received to a more reasonable level. With some very simple/quick testing I found a middle ground that I think still makes them reasonably dangerous (especially in groups with Feral Nights), but not completely obnoxious as to take down a full HP player in 2-3 attacks.
