💬 INTRODUCTION

The Double Barrel Shotgun was meant to be a high fire rate alternative to the Combat shotgun. The main problem is the reload animation for the Double Barrel has a ton of slowed-down movements to the point that you can almost speed it up a full 2x without it looking like it's been fast-forwarded.


⚙️ WHAT THIS MOD DOES

I sped up the reload animation to 1.7x, to the point just before it looks like it's been sped up. To see the difference, you can get an idea by playing the video below at 1.75x speed. The reload is much faster but still looks natural, helping to make the Double Barrel Shotgun a viable alternative to the Combat Shotgun and an actual usable weapon now.

⚙️ OPTIONAL CHANGE

To help make The Double Barrel shotgun be an even more viable gun. We have to look at another poor Bethesda design decision. Fallout 4 has a lot of guns that you'll just never use because there's better alternative guns. The Submachine Gun and the Double Barrel Shotgun are the biggest examples of this. Both the Combat Shotgun and the Double Barrel are shooting the same rounds and yet Bethesda decided to make the Double Barrel do 5 less damage than the combat shotgun. Makes no sense...

You can download an alternate version of this mod that fixes both the reload speed and adds the extra 5 damage to the Double Barrel, balancing the weapon even further.


🔮 FUTURE PLANS

I have a complete shotgun overhaul coming soon that will address the biggest issue for all shotguns in the game, the ridiculously wide spread that gives shotguns absolutely no range and also leads to them dealing less damage than they should as a consequence. So stay tuned for that.

💻 INSTALLATION

Download either just the Reload Speed Increase or the Speed Increase with the +5 Dmg. Only Download 1.

     I have a set of patches available for you, (If you want to see a patch for a different mod, let me know and I'll make it) only download 1:

• Armor Keywords Patch adds keywords including weapons tags to the Shotgun for item sorters.
• +5 Dmg Armor Keywords Patch same thing but for the +5 Dmg version
• Better Locational Damge Patch changes the damage to match BLD.
• AK & BLD Patch Adds keywords and BLD damage
  

    🚧 NOTE
     If your using 1 of the patches, you don't need to install the main file. Just load it after Armor Keywords and BLD.
