About this mod

Fixes the "cowardly" behavior for Deathclaws, Fog Crawlers, Mirelurks, etc when facing against Mirelurk Kings and Behemoths. Made for creature companion mods that feature deathclaw companions and such!

This mod "fixes" the cowardly behavior of deathclaws, fog crawlers, mirelurks, and etc from running away in "fear" when facing against Mirelurk Kings or Behemoths! So they can now fight them like the fearless creature they are!

This mod was made for creature companion mods in mind that either use the vanilla creature races or custom creature races that use the same unarmed weapon.

And no, confidence settings have nothing to do with this.

Also no, this doesn't make it so that creatures are immune to the sonic attack effect from mirelurk kings, because that is perfectly intentional by the game's design.
(That attack uses a spell effect that inflicts them with demoralize which decreases the target's confidence)


How was this achieved?

This was done by increasing the unarmed melee reach that the creature races use. For example, a deathclaw's melee reach is 1.06,
according to the UnarmedDeathclaw weapon.

This may be okay for fighting mostly everything, but when they are facing against Mirelurk
Kings or Behemoths, they appear to turn tail and run away like cowards.
And this is before the mirelurk king gets a chance to hit them with the
sonic attack that makes targets run away. However for some odd reason,
If I were to set their scale to 1.1, the deathclaw starts fighting them
relentlessly like they should.

Their confidence settings have nothing to do with this, even when set to foolhardly, they will still runaway.

So I'm here pondering: Deathclaws cannot attack that group because they cannot reach them? They instead
prefer to run away? But I were to make them slightly bigger, they will
fight?
So I tried another idea: What happens if I were to increase their unarmed melee reach? And would you look at that, deathclaws are
able to fight mirelurk kings and behemoths relentlessly without having
to change their scale.

And this scenario also applies to other creatures like fog crawlers and mirelurks.

Installation:

- Extract the zip contents to your Data folder
- Enable the mod named "G231_CreatureUnarmedReachIncrease.esp" with your plugin manager like MO2 or Vortex


Uninstalling:

- Uncheck the mod named "G231_CreatureUnarmedReachIncrease.esp" with your plugin manager like MO2 or Vortex
- Remove "G231_CreatureUnarmedReachIncrease.esp"

Anything that makes changes to the unarmed weapons for the affected creatures will conflict.

Otherwise, should work with literally everything.

Since I don't own a console and a copy for those versions, I won't be able to test the mod myself on the console version.

Notice! This does increase the melee attack reach for the affected creatures, both friendly and hostile ones. So they will be able to attack you a little further then they should.
