About this mod

Port of ME3's Default FemShep head model into ME2.

Permissions and credits
FemShep Appearance Consistency Project - ME2

A conversion of ME3's Default Jane head mesh for use in Mass Effect 2.  This will alter ME2's default FemShep to her Mass Effect 3 appearance, for a more consistent look between games.  Mass Effect 1 version is here.

Note on the ME2 Version:
While this mod is installed, custom FemSheps will "break" in-game.  If you wish to use a custom FemShep, uninstall the mod by deleting the DLC folder from your game.

Due to differences between the games, the method I used to create this mod in ME1 simply didn't work for ME2.  Because of this, I had to use an entirely different method, provided by the amazing NoiraFayn.

This mod is best used on a new game.  If you wish to use it on a game in-progress, you will need to follow additional steps in the instructions.

A NOTE ON LEGENDARY EDITION:  As a "Consistency Project," this mod will not be ported to the LE.  FemShep's actual head mesh is now in all three games in the Legendary Edition.  The complexion textures used in this mod are not mine, but were used with the permission of the authors who created them.

All three of the custom complexions used in this mod are now available as mods for the LE:

Jenya66Andromeda Inspired FemShep Complexion (MELE1) (along with Customizable Default Femshep Headmorph for Legendary Edition 1-2 and Customizable Default Femshep Headmorph for Legendary Edition 3)

Ellise: Default Femshep Retexture MELE1-2-3.

Audemus: Alternate Ellise Default FemShep Retexture.

Updates
5.11.21 - Update to include two new optional complexions, as well as ME2Controller support.  Additionally, a MEM file with Audemus's Ellise Complexion Edit for ME3 is now included in the optional downloads.  Use this for consistency through all three games!

Installation
Install with ME3Tweaks Mod Manager by Mgamerz.  Drag and drop the 7z into the mod manager to install.  As with all content mods, install BEFORE texture mods such as ALOT.  Since the mod uses its own texture files, changes to Shep face textures in ALOT shouldn't overwrite it.

This is best used with a new game.  In Character Creation, be sure to choose "Default Appearance" -- even though importing a save from the ME1 version of this mod should make your FemShep look correct, to be on the safe side, still choose Default Appearance before beginning the game.

If you are using ME2Controller, be certain to choose the ME2Controller support option when installing.

Note: If you are importing a save with a Custom FemShep from ME1 without using the ME1 version of this mod, Default FemShep's face will have the wrong textures applied in CC.  This is in CC only and she will appear correct in game.  I'll look into a fix for it, but in the meantime, you can play it as is with no other issues.

If you want to use the mod with a game in-progress, you'll need to download the optional FemShep Appearance Consistency Project Headmorph file and import it into your save using the Mass Effect Save Editor.  This still requires the main mod file to work.

The headmorph is not necessary for new games, only for saves that were created before installing the mod.

Note on Importing to ME3: (huge thanks to SirCxyrtyx for reminding me to test this)
Importing a save with this mod into ME3 will cause your imported look to appear incorrect in the Character Creation screen.  You will again have to choose Default Appearance in ME3 to get the correct ME3 look.  For some reason, she will appear blonde in Character Creation; she will look correct in-game.

Compatiblity
This mod will be incompatible with any mod that alters the same game files.  The list of game files altered is as follows:

Options
By default, the mod will install with Ellise's textures, but there are three other complexion options for you to choose from:  ME3 Vanilla Complexion, Audemus's Edit of Ellise's Complexion, and Jenya's Andromeda-Inspired Complexion.

If you are using ME2Controller, be certain to choose the ME2Controller support option with your complexion of choice.

Notes & Known Issues
There are a few imperfections in the mesh.  In particular, some of her mouth movements are occasionally even weirder than the default ME2 animations.

Credits
This mod would not have been in any way possible without the work of NoiraFayn, who both found a fix for the mod, and then kindly (and patiently) generated several files for me to get everything working.  Thank you so much, Noira!

This mod was created with ME3Explorer - ME3Tweaks Fork by Mgamerz, and also would not have been possible without all the work the developers have put into the ME modding community.
