Do you want crouch like in ME1? This mod adds it (choose toggle or hold version and choose key you want for it ).
Cover are not always at hand then having Crouch is useful. While crouching you are smaller target for enemies.
Choose toggle or hold version and choose key for crouching:
-LeftCtrl
-CapsLock
-LeftAlt
-LeftShift
-C
-Tab
-SpaceBar
-RightShift
-RightCtrl
-BackSpace
If you want use some other key, say in comments and if possible in future I will add it. There exist some keys what can't be added. For example it is possible add MiddleMouse Button and Thumb Buttons (mouse button 4th and 5th ) but if you have mouse with more buttons and want use one of them for Crouch:
-use BackSpace version, go to your Mouse software and bind for example Mouse 6th Button to BackSpace and then in game clicking Mouse 6th Button will be working as Crouch.
How to use mod:
-For hold version: you crouch until you hold button.
-For toggle version: to crouch just press and hold for about a second (until Shepard crouches ). When crouched, press it again to stand up.
-While crouching you can’t moving with holstered weapon but you can moving with gun in hands. This is not a bug – Shepard just don’t like overwork when not need to (the same was in Mass Effect 1 ).
News from 11 Septermber 2022:
-added optional file for increased shooting accuracy while crouching (it is in optional download section ). Also when you are in tall cover you can crouch and accuracy also be increased. By the way in tall cover, in hold versions of crouching you can stop holding crouch while aiming (holding right mouse button ) and when you stop aiming you will be still in crouch position. This isn’t problematic but definitely shows that crouch mechanic was planned to be implement in toggle form.
INSTALLATION:
1. Download mod with toggle or hold versions
2. Open ME3Tweaks Mod Manager
3. Drag downloaded file into Mod Manager
4. Click on key version what you want and then click install. Alternative version of installation: click import it (before you can unselect all but key version what you want ) - then click mod name (with key version what you want ) on the list and then click Apply Mod at the bottom right of the window (you should install only one key version for crouching ).
UNINSTALL:
In ME3Tweaks click Manage Target (first make sure that location for Mass Effect 2 is selected ) and find this mod: "ME2 Crouching.." (it is in default opened bookmark: "Installed DLC Mods" ) - click delete mod.
COMPATIBILITY:
Should be working with all mods except those what bind the same key for some other function. Optional file for accuracy should be compatible with everything. Known exceptions are mentioned below in "incompatibilities" section.
INCOMPATIBILITIES:
New Armor Colors - with any mod for crouch it heavily stutters when crouch (additionally in toggle version when you are crouched and you want stand up it not always work when clicking button ).
Crouch Button - since this mod also adding crouch there is no reason to use both mods together. Though optional file for better accuracy is compatible.
FAQ:
-Why mod not works?
-Will not work if you have binded button (from version you choose ) to some function in menu (just unbind it and reload game, and now all should work ).
