Does this work for Wrex and the Armax Arsenal squad mates?

  • Hopefully. In my play throughs Wrex and the other squad mates could be short by one talent point. There were times talent points were awarded as expected.
  • In version 1.1 I've added an additional talent point for henchmen at level 46 to compensate.
  • In my play throughs if you have already played an arena with a squad mate you may not get the additional talent point. In this situation use the console command GiveTalentPoints # to supply the missing talent point(s).

Why did Level Rewards take a dependency on Allow Extra Talent Points (LE3)?
  • It addresses the number one issue for Level Rewards: Talent point management for henchmen.
  • This means players no longer need to be concerned about what option to use for new games or in-progress games. It just works.
  • I did not make the decision to take a dependency on Allow Extra Talent Points (LE3) lightly. As far as I can determine it only has upsides.
  • Technically speaking, Allow Extra Talent Points (LE3) is not needed for new games. But is everyone going to remember and track that? More importantly, moving forward I assume Allow Extra Talent Points (LE3) is installed.

What happens if I do not install Allow Extra Talent Points (LE3)?
  • You will experience all of the talent point management issues for henchmen from the previous versions of Level Rewards.
  • New Games should not have any issues. Allow Extra Talent Points (LE3) primarily addresses issues that were endemic with games already in progress.
  • However, you should still install Allow Extra Talent Points (LE3) because it improves your experience with Level Rewards regardless of if you are playing a new game or an in-progress game.
  • I expect Allow Extra Talent Points (LE3) to be installed and future versions of Level Rewards will assume it is installed.

What is the number one issue for Level Rewards now?
  • The fact that the game does not calculate level except when experience is gained.
  • This is an issue for Level Rewards 'faster leveling' options because it means the player doesn't see the initial level adjustment, (for a save-game), until they earn experience.
  • This is not an issue for new games.

What the H--- are henchmen?
The game uses the term henchmen for squad mates.

Why does the game re-calculate Shepard's talent points on every load? Why not do the same for the henchmen?
I do not know. Though I would not be surprised if the fact that ME3 originally had a multiplayer component had something to do with it.

How many talent points does Shepard need to fill out power ranks?
189 talent points are required to fill out Shepard's ranks, including the bonus power. The vanilla game awards 181 talent points to Shepard.

How many talent points do henchmen require to fill out power ranks?
105 talent points are required to fill out the power ranks of henchmen. The vanilla game awards 90 talent points to henchmen.

What is the experience cap for the game?
  • For LE3 and Full Power Ranks the experience cap is 121,400.
  • For Faster Level 60 the cap is 71,000.
  • For Even Faster Level 60 the cap is 48,000.

I've used the mod for a while but want to uninstall it. Can I use the saves made while the mod was installed? What will happen if I do?
  • The short answer is: Yes, you can continue to play the game using those saves but expect some side effects.
  • Full Power Ranks
    • If you use a save made while level 1-15 your henchmen will keep additional talent points earned. Depends on whether and when you used a henchman on a mission.
    • If you use a save made while level 16-30 your henchmen will keep any additional talent points earned and at level 60, be able to fill all power ranks for a henchman. Additionally, henchmen will have up to 15 excess talent points upon reaching level 60. Depends on whether and when you used a henchman on a mission.
    • Shepard will keep any additional talent points earned. This is slightly different to vanilla and a benefit of Allow Extra Talent Points (LE3).
  • Faster Level 60
    • Because this option changes the experience required to level there are more side-effects to be aware of.
    • Keep in mind this option keeps the max level at 60 but sets the experience cap to 71,000. Level 46 in vanilla.
    • The experience required to reach level 30 is the same. 
    • The game does not re-calculate level on load. Only when experience is earned.
    • After level 31 your level will be higher than it normally would be for the experience you have gained. This means you have some experience to catch up on before obtaining your next level.
    • For example, if you are level 58 when you uninstall the mod, it will be quite some time before you reach level 59. 
    • Shepard and henchmen will keep any additional talent points earned. This is slightly different to vanilla and a benefit of Allow Extra Talent Points (LE3).
    • As with Full Power Ranks it is possible for henchmen to earn more talent points then they can spend.
  • Even Faster Level 60
    • Because this option changes the experience required to level there are more side-effects to be aware of.
    • Keep in mind this option keeps the max level at 60 but sets the experience cap to 48,000. A wee bit more than level 35 in vanilla.
    • The game does not re-calculate level on load. Only when experience is earned.
    • After level 1 your level will be higher than it normally would be for the experience you have gained. This means you have some experience to catch up on before obtaining your next level.
    • Shepard and henchmen will keep any additional talent points earned. This is slightly different to vanilla and a benefit of Allow Extra Talent Points (LE3).
    • As with Full Power Ranks it is possible for henchmen to earn more talent points then they can spend.
