About this mod

Gives Tali and the Quarians visible faces by adding new meshes and lowering the opacity of the visor.

What is this?
A reimagination of Tali (and, in turn, the Quarians) facial appearances. There’s a ton of fun and interesting interpretations out there and I wanted to give it a shot as well. While mostly inspired by Matt Rhodes original ME1 concept art, this aimed to be a mix of a lot of different fan creations, and some of my own ideas as well. This only changes the appearances for quarians Shepard directly interacts with.

The faces were sculpted in zBrush, re-topod in Maya, and textured in Substance Painter. Cabin photo render was made with Arnold.

This mod was built on the LE3 Community Patch and Framework files and as such is a hard requirement for it to work.

Installation
Main

  • Download ME3Tweaks Mod Manager
  • Drag and drop the 7z file into the library or install directly from Nexus
  • Import and install mod

Optional
  • Go to the Tools tab in ME3Tweaks Mod Manager and open Mass Effect Modder.
  • Pick LE3 and select Texture Modding → Install texture mods
  • Press “add to the list”
  • Install selected mods or install all mods
Backup your game before installing any mods!
And make sure you have all your DLC/content mods installed before installing any textures!

Go to Manage target → LE3 → Delete/disable “Tali’s (and Quarians) Visible Face (LE3)”

Compatibility

Patched:
Character Consistency Project by Tydeous

Somewhat compatible with:
Expanded Galaxy Mod - Only if you pick Tali’s default outfit/armor

All other non quarian mods should be compatible thanks to the framework. Texture mods changing and updating quarian armors/outfits should work as well.

Issues
None of the Quarian’s mouths fully moves when they speak in this mod. It makes some camera angles look a bit awkward, but it’s better than the alternative. When trying to give their mouth movement akin to what default humans and asari have, it looks something like this:

In technical terms, the jawbone is whack. The visor flipping out however was uh… my fault.
