Deep Space Reshade is a minimalistic preset made for LE1 that features rich colors, deeper blacks and subtle sharpening. You should not expect drastic changes, my tweaks are fairly subtle. The preset uses a grand total of 3 FXs:
- CAS
- DPX
- Prod80's Filmic Tonemap
Performance cost: ~5-10FPS
One area of focus for this preset is to make the game more vibrant, without messing with character's skin tones too much. When you boost the colors in this game, Caucasian characters tend to look red/orange which I tried to avoid. Another area of focus for this preset is to make cut-scenes feel more cinematic.
Quick Installation
During Reshade installer, select SweetFX and Color effects by prod80. For SweetFX, select CAS.fx, DPX.fx. For Color effects, select PD8003_Filmic_Adaptation.fx. Download my preset, drag & drop to your LE1 directory and replace Reshade.ini. Use Insert key to toggle.
Detailed Installation

1. Download Reshade and run the Reshade_Setup_4.9.1.exe
2. Select MassEffect1.exe [Located at Origin/Mass Effect Legendary Edition/Game/ME1/Binaries/Win64]. Select Direct3D 10/11/12
3. Select SweetFX by Ceejay.dk and Color Effects by prod0:
4. For SweetFX, the only files you need are CAS.fx and DPX.fx:
5. For Color effects, the only file you need is PD8003_Filmic_Adaptation.fx:
6. Download my Deep Space Reshade Preset, and drag and drop the files to your game directory [Origin/Mass Effect Legendary Edition/Game/ME1/Binaries/Win64]. Replace Reshade.ini
7. Deep Space preset will be automatically applied when starting your game. To toggle the preset on/off, use the Insert key.
